I need a porion-control program for at least a month or two. I have looked into Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig, but they use sugar and some tropical oils and the sodium is a little high [I have high blood pressure aka hypertension]. Nutrisystem's shakes have probiotics, which is great. But Jenny Craig has a sample pack, so you can try the food and see if you like it I hate the idea of processed food and -- if left to my own devices -- I would use only whole foods with no preservatives. But so far the only thing that ever worked for me was to use food that was already portioned for me. I used Weight Watchers in 1995 with their prepared meals which I picked up at their centers. I reduced my weight by 25 pounds in a summer. They no longer do the food at the centers, so now I would have to buy the food at the supermarket. I don't mind doing that, but I have to calculate points and stuff. For the first few week, I don't want to calculate anything; I want someone to do the work for me. Now I am wheelchair-bound, have hypertension, pre-diabetes and hypothyroid. Losing weight will not only make me look a lot better and feel better, but it is important for my health. I would love to be able to eliminate some of the drugs from my daily regimen of about 20 prescriptions. I need constructive feedback from people who have done these programs. Please no lectures about processed foods-- I am very knowledgeable about nutrition and that's why I am looking at the Nutrisystem program where I get to choose my meals. I avoid soy and processed meats, for example. In fact, I avoid most meat except fish and a little chicken I prefer meals where veggies are in the majority. I prefer a plant-based diet. I know it's better to put meals together myself, but I need a jump-start with someone doing the work for me.......Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig? Or is there a lesser-known program with healthier foods that won't set me back an arm and a leg? Please no MLMs My BMI is 29.2 and I am limited to exercises I can do in my wheelchair.
