NO DOG POOP

During trash day last week, my boyfriend discovered someone thrown dog poop in a bag in our trashcan!
We wouldn't mind if the trash is full and going to get dumped, but if someone's trash can is completely empty/clean I find that rude! Especially because once we start filling our trashcan up, the bag of poop will be there for a week and who knows it can break, smear, leak out and make our trashcan stink! We spray water quickly on our trashcans every other week so it doesn't get smelly or have flies.
Today, being trash day - we noticed some trash cans with white printed signs. I asked my boyfriend to drive closer because I wanted to read the white signs on their trash cans. Many people in the neighborhood put signs that said "NO DOG POOP". I am guessing this is the same exact person! Just tossing their dog poop in random peoples trashcan throughout the community. And here we are thinking we're the only ones.
I hope these dog owners have common courtesy next time.

I'm not sure how things work there or what sort of place you live in.
Over here we have wheelie bins for our rubbish.
Many have their own but if you live in a bigger building, like me, you have communal ones.
Some are for recycling and some are for household waste.
Here there are dog sh1t bins in parks for people to put waste in.
But I'm not sure if dog sh1t is allowed in household waste bins.
If someone has put dog sh1t in your personal trash container then that is wrong.

Ha-ha!
Each house is given a personal trash bin and recycling bin by the city. If you need another or lost it - it costs money. But we are paying for trash, garbage disposal, it isn't free.
Totally wrong! And, I bet you their trash cans are CLEAN without dog poop because they're tossing it in everyones but theres.

@infatuatedbby ok I get it.
someone is putting dog waste in your bin...absolutely wrong.
Get a cctv camera set up and catch the person doing it then bill them for cleaning costs

Eww! This is the first time I've heard of people randomly throwing their dog poop at other people's trash.
Why the hell would they do the? Are they too lazy or just do that for fun?

@infatuatedbby That's what I don't understand, "they don't want to carry the poop home." So why own a dog in the first place if you don't want to be responsible with their own poop!

It's happened at my parents' too!
Okay - so the pet owners would take their dogs in walks do they can go #1,#2 whatever so when they do. That means it's literally never at their house because dogs are potty trained.. That means everyday some people around the community are just littering. We find poop often since we're a corner house hidden in the bushes. We don't manage the front lawn or surrounding areas since it's a HOA community. Regardless these people will just walk their dog, and throw the trash in the nearest home! They don't want to carry the bags to their home. Which is very greedy in my opinion so their trash cans is prestige clean!

@toniganzon Yeah! They did half the part by picking up the poop but littering it in people's trash cans! I don't have a pet because it's too much responsibility yet it's like I do! I don't want that in my trash can! There's enough ants, bugs as is.

That is illegal to put garbage in someone else's garbage can and disgusting! Dog poop smells so bad! I would be really mad if someone put garbage of theirs in my can. I have to pay per bag. It is probably someone out walking their dog who instead of taking their bags of poop home with them they throw it in whatever can is closest.

@infatuatedbby Right where I live there is garbage trucks that come pick up our garbage. We can pay per month and put out 2 bags a week or pay $3 per bag. Since I don't have 2 bags a week to put out it saves me money to do the $3 a bag option whenever I accumulate a bag of that size.

@shaggin Oh I see! Here the waste is included in the water bill. I never really checked the break down of garbage though.

Where you live, you pay per bag to toss out garbage?
Yes, whoever this person is ~ walks their dog and throws their dogs poop bags at the nearest home! So essentially the poop bag will never make it to their house because they take their dogs out so they can go use the bathroom!!

I guess you have a poop problem in your neighborhood! Ruby's doesn't go in the trash - it goes in the woods.

Yes. We have a poop problem lately!
There's so many dog owners around this neighborhood now. Totally fine, but they need to pay attention to their pets going and picking up! I saw a man with 5 dogs (he probably dog walks) but he NEVER watches the dogs and stares at his phone. So annoying. This one lady was shocked with her jaw opening seeing him walk, she grabbed her dog and waited for them to pass by.

@AbbyGreenhill And when its not trash day - they don't pick up after their dogs! Their pet will go in the bushes or grass!
Maybe when I'm older, country life would be easier

That would irritate me, too. And it brings up the times I've travelled with the pups- our morning walk, me sick of holding onto a yucky bag, wishing we were closer to the motel garbage can. Such a temptation to just find most any garbage can and get rid of my burden!

Living in a HOA community, they have dog bags but not enough. There are only two stands but with the stand they should put a trash can. The HOA crew comes out every other day if not daily to clean the community, trim trees/grass and what not. We wouldn't mind if the trash can is full and going to be dumped. But these owners bring their dogs out to poop, and when their dogs done pooping, they toss it in other peoples trash cans and not theirs! And when it's not trash day, the dogs will go in the bushes/grass without being picked up. They need to be responsible!

@sallypup I wonder if the man noticed there was fresh poop nearby and no other dogs by (I assume) then it could be his?
Not related, but I went to order food at a marketplace (you're allowed to try samples). The girl ahead sampled lemonade then left her sample cup there. She's supposed to toss it, so when I went to ask for a sample to try before buying. The cup is there so it looks like its mine. I tossed it out anyway but seriously some people do not have common curiosity.

@infatuatedbby I was in a park one day. A guy had a German Shepherd that he let wander- not supposed to, right? Guy went into public bathroom, left the Shepherd to wander. Dog took a dump BUT guy was in the bathroom and when he came out he didn't look to see if Shepherd had been busy. Made me want to punch the guy.

Yeah it is selfish. So if they take their pets out for their "bathroom" time everytime, their home trash can is pretty much clean!

I can't even imagine someone doing that to other trash cans. I would never do that. Owning a dog and having to pick it up i have the right heart to know to throw it away in my trash can. yes it smells but its something i deal with.
Make sure you get a sign and put it on your trash can so this person does not think its ok to do that at all. Its really wrong and not sure what that person is thinking at all.

I don't own a dog. But I have walked with my sister (who is a dog owner) and she picks it up and brings it home to toss when going on walks. Of course, if you're at a park or something like that, you can toss it in the trashcan there.
Thank you for picking up after your dog and tossing it in your trash can.
I thought we were the only one, but I saw at least 3 other homes put the sign up on their trashcans. From afar, it was just white paper taped outside and when we drove closer, it read No Dog Poop. There has been a lot of pet activity lately. I believe a man in the area might be dog walker because he always walks dogs at least 5 at a time, never pays attention to them and is glued to his phone.

That would be most annoying when people do that .. Obviously, there are people around your area who do that .. "NO DOG POO" sign is necessary then ..

I think that's really rude, even if your trashcan is full. I think the dog owner should bring the dog poop back to his home and throw it in his or her own trashcan. Perhaps you can also put a sign on your trash can. Some dog owners in my neighborhood don't take care of the poop, but just leave them in front of other's house, that's worse.

Yes. I think it's rude regardless but I would rather have the trash can full and on the same day the trash is going to be dumped. I wouldn't be as upset but for my trash can to be collected already and inside is just a bag of poop is very upsetting!
I don't know which dog owner it is! But I have a hunch who. We will be on a watch out since it's happening to many homes around the community and they're not too happy either.
We will put a sign next week that says No dog poop please!

Probably that dog owner doesn't want his trash bin to stink that's why he/she dumps the dog poop in other's bin. What an irresponsible, lazy, rude and unethical dog owner!

If you can spare about 20 minutes you should listen to the song Alice's Restaurant.
Yeah, it's a long song.
It's all about a guy who went to jail for dumping garbage in someone else's pile and it's pretty funny...
