Do you wrap Christmas presents you buy, or have someone else do it for you?

I see these stands at the malls that charge $4-5 per present to wrap, I'm guessing that is a major rip off. I'm not great at wrapping presents though.
I'm lucky and my wife will wrap the ones I buy (of course except for the ones that are for her).
Do you wrap your own, have a friend/spouse wrap them for you, or do you pay to have them wrapped?

I do my own...check out my humble little blog at www.scrapadoo.blogspot.com. Sometimes, simple wrapper like brown paper can really make a different if you add on additional "decoration" to it.

that's good, like I said I try on a few, but also like them to look nice and that doesn't always happen with my wrapping. Lot of times the edges don't line up perfectly like some I get from others.

I wrap the presents myself. I think that is a part of the Christmas fun. My husband does a pretty good job on wrapping my gifts. As a matter of fact, I am going to wrap my 8 month old gifts today because his Christmas is done.

nice, did you buy anything on black friday yesterday or just shopped a little as the year went on to build up?

Nope I do it myself. I think it is really lazy to hire someone else to wrap your presents. I prefer the personel touch makes it more special.

I sort of agree, but at the same time I don't want to give someone a present that looks poorly wrapped which sometimes happens when I wrap them.

cool, my favorite parts are shopping for the present and seeing the person's reaction when they get it.

it depends. i ussually buy a gift bag and if it is not very expensive i asked them to wrap them for me .. iam not very good at it!! If i am really short of money , i buy some wrapping paper and i do it myself... it is though very nice when it is v good wrapped, the effect on the person is different

I've seeen them and there are times I have been tempted to ask them to do my wrapping but then again I enjoy doing it, it's like the best part, besides giving people the girfts of course. I enjoy doing it, it may not look professional but it's the effort that counts I guess

$4-$5 for wrapping presents? Whoa - here in Germany they do it for free. However, I tend to avoid them because the gifts look way too perfect and I like to have them really come from the heart with my own way of wrapping them. Also I know how stressed the ladies are and I'm too polite/dumb to use them. :)

I wrap some, but those that might seem to be a problem I put those in gift bags. And I do all my shopping for my packaging products from the "Dollar Tree", because as we all know 'wrapping paper and accessories' can be costly.

true, gift bags are helpful. I also get my wrapping items from Big Lots which is a discount store.

I wrap all the gifts that I or my husband buys. I think it is fun. Almost as fun as watching their faces light up when they unwrap their gifts. It is a special time for me. I love it! I cannot see paying someone to do it for me the money that I save doing it myself can be spent on more gifts or to buy something special for myself.

good approach, my wife has tried to teach me, but I'm just not that great at it. I do try to do some though and try to put things in the box or wrap it in a way to disguise the present that way people can't guess it when they shake it if they see it under the tree before Christmas. Surprises are best.

what about the presents you get for your mom? Do you wrap those or get someone else to wrap them other than your mom?

I always wrap the gifts we buy. I love to wrap presents and have many rolls of gift wrapping and many types of bows and ribbons to use in decorating. It can be a real challenge to wrap an odd-shaped gift. Of course, you can always use gift bags and make it easy on yourself. I have a supply of those also for when I'm in a hurry.

Yeah, gift bags are a good idea, but I'm always afraid people will think I'm just being lazy (sort of am, but again it's also because I'm not good at wrapping), we are going shopping for wrapping paper today, can be pricey at times but there's a Big Lots by us which has good prices.
