7 Hours of Sleep To Avoid Diabetes

I read with interest a small news report on Yahoo news yesterday regarding sleep patterns and a claim that British people are only getting 6.8 hours of sleep a day.
I am at times dubious about data studies. They may provide qualitative information but quantitive information can seldom be achieved where human sleep is concerned. I know from personal experience and of late that I have not been getting a full 7 hours of sleep due to the rough weather.
Although the Yahoo news piece contains information regarding lack of sleep, the health factor is an interesting one to reduce diabetes, heart disease and other bad health factors. Certainly I know that I have had bad moods if I haven't slept properly. I only know of some people who sleep well over 7 hours a day and they tend to find that most of the day has been wasted because of lethargy. (c)Nar2/crystalvisions.

I would feel sluggish if I sleep more than 6 hours! I am already active very early in the morning.

When I went to India to see family I always had about 7 hours to sleep despite the heat. I think outside temperatures do affect sleeping patterns.
