Yes, I know how dangerous that could be (those trains don't slow down for anyone) and I'm sure I'd be trespassing on someone's private property at some point. But, it sure looks like it would be fun to do.

You could hear the train coming from some distance and place a penny on the track.

That doesn't work here. The trains move really fast. The last time I saw someone try that (my mother-in-law), the penny just went flying.
