A few years ago I took twenty pounds off with Nutrisystem. I kept it off for about a year, it's creeping back again basically because I don't exercise enough. It taught me how better to eat, though. You.eat several small healthy meals throughout the day. "Grazing" instead of three big meals. I wouldn't cut any one element out of your diet, just cut portions. If you cut something totally out, you will be starving for it and end up gorging. And of course exercising every day is SO important.

They value self-discipline/control and consistency. Hence, they get to maintain their ideal weight after losing unwanted pounds.

People who are able to lose weight willingly and easily are lucky. I cannot because I have a diease. But I know how people keep it off and it is you got to keep up with a routine. That is really it. You have to keep a schedule, but also make it fun. Make walking into an adventure, give yourself a small treat after exercising, eat healthy. It may seem like a lot of work but if you keep to it, it becomes a habit.

Exercise and diet control, both are equally necessary to get rid of the extra pounds.

I think if you just keep in check the amount of carb and sugar you take, you will definitely lose weight... as it works for me.. And I eat in small amounts now three to five times a day instead of having three full meals a day..

Definitely need to develop alot of self discipline to maintain a diet, losing is the easy part and maintaining it is the hard part, you can easily get distracted and crave for junk food so need to watch out for that.

For me, I have slowly begun to make small lifestyle changes. I was fed up with being heavy, and I decided to do something about it. I started working out every other day, walking and running at least 3 miles. Then I started working on eating less, and more healthy. Smaller portions and more frequent eating helps keep your metabolism up and running. Small healthy snacks have been successful for me. The biggest thing is staying motivated and not giving up. Find your reason and your motivation. I'm 30 lbs down and hoping to lose 50 more!
