Kalimera, Kalimera and Thank Goodness its Friday as the saying goes! Happy Greek Friday from me and in so celebrating I thought I would share Greece's first Olympic Gold medalist as well. Congratulations to the lovely young Anna Korakaki who won "Greece's first gold medal of the Rio Olympics on Tuesday, beating her German opponent Monika Karsch by 8 points to six in the women's 25 meter pistol final. Korakaki who is only 19 years of age, won the bronze medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event at the Games on Sunday. It was Greece's first medal of these Olympics." Brávo - which is Well done in Greek! Kalimera to Katerina who might also be celebrating something wonderful along the waterfront with a friend - sipping on some fabulous Greek coffee.
