GThis Is My Most Common GTyping Mistake.

I do gthis so often gthat I was wondering if anyone else does it. I seem to hit gthat 'g' when I'm aiming for gthe 't'. I must just glance off the g fractionally before I hit the t, so they both register. It happens when I'm going as quickly as I can, which quite frankly is not very quickly as I only use two fingers. I never learned to type properly. Because I can't touch type I'm looking at the keyboard, not the screen, and another thing I do is to sometimes hit the 'Caps Lock' instead of the 'a'. Then when I do look at the screen there are whole sentences in capitals. Grrr. Fortunately I usually catch my mistakes before I submit. Do you make mistakes like these, or is your typing perfect? @Asylum - gthe funny gthing is gthat I only do it at gthe start of a word, not if the t is anywhere else.

I dont remembre making that mistake but I have made others. Since some letters are close to others or next to them, we can mistype a word easily. No big deal though. We all make typing mistakes.

I never look at the machine if I can help it as I learned touc h typing years ago at age 17 so if I have my hands in the taught position I will not make errors but if you put your fingers save one key over you get all typos lol lol lol.Your photo is just gorgeous loveit.

@Hatley It's good that you learned touch typing and have retained that ability. I didn't touch a keyboard of any sort until 3 years ago at the age of 73, so it's impossible for me to type without looking at the keyboard. Thanks for liking the flowers.

I hit the cap lock all of the time. So I try to look at what I am typing while I am typing it.

No, my keyboarding is far from perfect. I have a high wpm but when I am on the site here, I tend to type an extra letter here or there if my finger accidentally rests on a key. I've not noticed typos in your discussions.

@Juliaacv My mistakes very rarely make it to the page, because they usually jump out at me when I read it prior to posting. If I find one later I always correct it, no matter how long ago I did it.

I am ok with typing I picked it up myself. I do not look at the keyboard other wise it would take me ages to type. The fun I had was when I was in France as they do not use the QWERTY keyboard and eventually it looked all gobbledigooky so I had to look at the Keyboard and it took me ages to type something! I did a speed test and I score between 60 and 80 words a minute.

@garymarsh6 The whole wpm thing is strange to me - I don't know what's good and what's not. That French keyboard would completely throw me.

I won't call my typing perfect but I was a data entry operator for 40 years so I am familiar with the keyboard .... but I still hit that caps button, which drives me nuts and whenever I want to backspace I end up on a whole nother tab, I haven't figured out what the heck I'm hitting but I rarely watch the keyboard when I type. Oh, I just remembered "to err is human" can't recall who wrote that

Well, even when one does a particular job for 40 years one still makes mistakes, it’s the human condition @jaboUK

@rebelann To err is human, to forgive is divine - it might have been Alexander Pope, but I'm not sure. What hope is there for me if you still make mistakes, and you were doing it for a living for all that time. I'd never done any typing at all until 3 years ago when I got my first computer.

Lol yeahhh I do that sometimes... some of the keyboards are so sensitive these days... not like when I was at school using a proper typewriter. .. you had to press quite firmly on one key..lol and if you did manage to hit and press down two keys they would collide near the ribbon ...

I've had the same problem with the G and the T on the keyboard. Since they are right next to each other, I often mix them up when typing. That's why I will never end my emails to my boss with the word "Regards" again!

I used to type 130 WPM before the arthritis took over my fingers but I've adjusted and can still kick out about 60. However, my typing or anyone's have ever been perfect. Even those who rarely make mistakes, still do. My biggest thing is hitting the cap tab instead of the A and trying to hit the T but hit the R. It's the way my fingers are now.

@noni1959 I gather that's a good score, but I wouldn't have known. I have a bit of arthritis in my fingers too, so I couldn't type properly if I tried. Interesting that you tend to hit the 'caps'. the same as me.

@jaboUK I was self taught way back as a teen with a manual typewriter. Later I got faster with an electric typewriter I bought in my early 20's to use for forms, letters and such. Once I was working at a hospital, I could actually type looking at the screen and not the keyboard. My arthritis has my fingers swollen and bent so I've had to adjust but so far so good. I make more mistakes using dragon speak or a microphone.

My typing is far from perfect, even though I won an award way back in high school. I usually myLot on my iPad, and only use one finger. If there is an error, it's due to auto correct. I try to proofread every post and comment before I hit the respond button, but sometimes don't. S is my problem letter when I try to hit A.

Far from perfect lol. I am having same kind of trouble with 'e' and 's' Whenever I type "these" I always end up with "theses". Seems like I am following the rythmic movement of my hand like "e-s-e-s" Yes the 'Caps Lock' is a turd too.

@jaboUK Oops thatnks for the correction, it`s not even the $ sign,it`s the £ sign because i have to hold the caps key( im using german keyboard)to type ( ```````) what`s the name? another one is the S in caps when i need to write Mary`s (`S) here it seems im always holding the caps key too long and end up writing the S in caps

I've been typing since I was 13. So you'd think I'd know how. As soon as I got on the internet, my typing went way downhill. I make so many more errors now than I ever used to. I can't tell you my most common mistakes, because I perform them all, lol. I've always typed fast, but I also used to be accurate. I learned on a manual typewriter back in the day and these keyboards just allow you to go so darn fast. My fingers are just flying but I don't know where they land.

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - Those surely are some fine-looking flowers. As to the "g" stuff from your keyboard, most folks have similar problems tapping on the right key every single time. I can hit that "T" just fine, but often when I want an upper case "T" I mess up and get the lower case "t.." Then I have to return for more "T." My tummy gets so full of "T" sometimes because of that error I then have to "P." My keyboard has no way of helping me with that.

@jaboUK Don't be silly(which you aren't actually), I'm thankful . I used to grow a lot of these petunias in the pots, they would start out with being 1/2 an inch seedlings bought at an exorbitant price and I would fuss over them like newborn babies...but the end results were good , though lost a couple to snails...
