We returned this morning from a fortnight spent north of Perth, Western Australia, looking at wildflowers. We took our bus/motor-home and two other couples travelled in their motor-homes too.
Mostly we camped in free camping places, moving from area to area to try to find the different wildflowers that are now blooming in the northern, warmer areas. I now have dozens and dozens of photos of wildflowers so will be spending a few happy hours sorting photos for slideshows.
One of the early photos I took was of a road sign warning motorists of wildlife that could be on the roads. Shown here are the kangaroo, emu and echidna. We saw one live kangaroo and a few dead ones, no emus but three echidnas. We were very lucky to see these as they are not all that common. The echidna deserves a post all on his own but for now, it's great to be back and I'm off to catch up with all your writings.

No need to be sorry. All countries have their strange animals don't they? One variety occurs in New Guinea too.
