And the Irish accent is so charming, even if I do have trouble understanding it.
I have friends in Scotland and I can barely understand a word they say!

Perfect discussion. Somehow different than other. By the way I prefer American English. Even tho it is not so different at all.

I prefer American English because I was born in America and have spoken American English all my life. *And you do know that within American English there are different accents, the Northern Accent & the Southern Accent. I was born and raised in the South East (Georgia) and I have a Southern Accent. I was visiting Northern States and people did tell me, that I had a Southern Accent.

@azis27 because it could be understand easily their accent are clear but this is only my, view many people prefer american english an they find it easy for them.

Well, I think most of us prefer the English of our birth country, but British English does seem rather elegant, I would agree with that.

I grew up in America so I prefer that English but also there are States in the United States that do not have the same words for things. I remember when i came to live in Israel and was learning Hebrew there was a guy from England and he used to say we ruined the English language.

I prefer American English but I love having British English accent.
