I'm Back, but Not for Long

Surprise! We flew to Florida with friends of ours for a long weekend as a last hurrah. We stayed in our condo, had no WiFi, ate all our meals out, and did a quick open and close of the place. Of course we had fun, and saw Orville, the Osprey.
I'm saying it was a last hurrah, because my poor hubby is having a four hour surgery, his first ever, on Thursday. He's nervous, but I'm sick, worried, and depressed over it.
His surgeon told him he will have a two or three day hospital stay, and have to wear a collar for 6-8 weeks. He won't be able to drive for that long, either.
In the meantime, since we are redecorating our family room, we have hired a floor tiler and a painter. The furniture has been ordered, and most of the main furniture cleared out with the help of our younger son. I'll be in charge of everything for the next two months, including grocery shopping and cooking. I'm so rusty!
Please forgive me for not being a good mylotter lately. I hope to see you soon.

I'm glad that you got away for a last little bit of fun before the seriousness of the surgery.
I'd be there to hold your hand while he's being operated on, you know that, if I lived closer.
Otherwise, I'll be with you both, in thought and in prayer.
I know that you'll rise to the occasion.
Hopefully you'll be able to whip up some wonderful healing meals that will have him smiling and feeling his old self quickly.

@just4him I'm plain exhausted. The surgery lasted 6 hours. The first two were spent looking for his arterial artery. His hand and arm are still swollen and black and blue. They finally resorted to Dopplar to find it. The other four hours went well. Only problem is the pain and the fact that he can't lift his arms. I have to brush his teeth, feed him, dress him, etc. Even scratch him! Lol! It's tough, but I'll pull through.

@DianneN - I completely understand! My husband and I recently moved from one condo in our retirement community to another one. He also has a number of health issues which complicate my life sometimes. In addition, we are taking a short trip (just staying at an oceanfront resort in Pacific Palisades) next week, then home for a week, then out to Las Vegas to meet up with my family the week after that. If I am off-line quite a bit over the next month, you'll know why. I will be thinking of you and your husband and hopefully we will both be on a more regular routine by later in September or early October.
