How Do I Know So Much About You?

I've been doing a series of rhymes on my fellow myLotters, and several people have asked me how I know so much about them.
Well, I naturally pick up little snippets of information as I flit about the site, and when I decide upon a subject, I not only read your posts but study your activity too.
You'd be surprised how much of yourselves you give away in your responses and comments. What I'm looking for is something that makes you stand out, something that other myLotters will recognise you for.
It's no good me just saying 'likes cooking and gardening', as that can apply to probably half the people here. I may well include that info, but I need something a bit different as well.
A good side-effect of seeing what my friends are responding to is that I may find some interesting posts that I've missed.
On MyLot I like to have fun,
About you my tales I have spun,
I've had to turn sleuth
In pursuit of truth,
And hope you're amused when I'm done.

I totally agree with your observation. In fact, observing other interacting helps understand a person better than when you directly talk to them. I sort of start seeing the pattern in their behaviours and reactions to certain things. Those reveal a lot about their personalities.

@Daljinder Yes, the whole 'activity' of a person tends to give a much rounder picture.

I give away as much as I want people to know, no more and no less
Some people know more but that's my choice to tell them.
There's a massive chunk of my life I do not share ever

But I'm always honest, I never tell lies on here...I may lie by omission but that's not the same.

@Mike197602 Obviously I can't know things that people don't put out there for all to see, it's just that I'm good at noticing what they write.

@jaboUK you are
But what people write on the net is not necessarily them.
Just as offline, it takes years of association to get to know someone, it's the same here.
Lets take mylot as an example...what goes on in public is often the tip of the iceberg of the actual interaction on a site like this.
I suppose what I'm saying as on the internet it's easier to be who you want to be than it is offline.
I'm quite interested in this subject, who tells the truth and who varnishes it etc.
You've given me a topic for discussion that I'll add to my notebook

It really boils down to the fact that you pay attention to the people you interact with. Just like you pay attention to your gardens and flowers. We blossom under that kind of attention.

@GardenGerty Thank you Heather. Do you know @crazyhorseladycx ? She always refers to her friends here as her garden of flowers - it's a good analogy.

I don't think that a lot of people pay as much attention as you do. I am a Scorpio and love to do detective work. It's amazing what you can learn about a person just by paying attention.

@celticeagle Oh lol - you think your star sign has something to do with it? I'm Sagittarius.
Whatever - yes if we pay attention we will learn things.

As usual this is awesome .... I love the limerick and I'm definitely amused as well as getting a chance to check out someone I had not known about previously. PLEEEEEZE don't stop coming up with those wonderful discussions.
I'm trying to come up with phrases where at least 3 words start with the same letter, well, look what I got ....... they had to stop the fat man from flaunting his flatulence, should I be ashamed of that?

Oh goody @jaboUK now if only I could think of more such silly dillies to write
I know how hard it must be to drum up the right kind of information about a member, it's actually a lot of work which I hope you know we all appreciate. You definitely seem to be a favorite for many Mylotters.
So, are you saying you need a vacation for a while?

@rebelann Thanks for being so enthusiastic about my verses, but I think my well of ideas is running dry. We'll see - I may feel like doing some more later.
You've made me laugh with your alliteration, and all without mentioning the obvious word! Definitely you shouldn't be ashamed, you should be proud
