I am sure this question might come to everyone as a DUH? because we all have cell-phones now, but in reality how does one answer the phone regardless if it be cell or tele?
Well last night as I was watching a Quiz show it was made apparent that Alexander Graham Bell originally suggested 'AHOY' be adopted as the standard greeting when answering a telephone.
Strange though and just imagine saying AHOY every time you answered your cell - give it a try and see how silly it sounds.
Luckily Thomas Edison suggested the "HELLO" and that became the common greeting.
How do you answer your mobile, phone, the device of communication?
".... . .-.. .-.. ---" is the Morse Code for Hello.
Just some food for thought!

In Slovenia the usual response when you answer the phone should be 'Prosim'. This word is also used as 'excuse me', 'you're welcome', and 'please.' But when I forget to say prosim and answer my phone with 'hello' people get a little confused.

My cat's name is Sophie too and she does not answer the phone. I say hello when I answer it.
