A childhood I try to forget...

The age when things went downhill.

I am a survivor of childhood molestation...not once...not twice..but three times. They weren't as bad as other cases people have been through, but they made an impact on me as a child. Has anyone else been molested as a child? (I'm sure I know the answer to that...) But, I'm more looking for..how did you learn to cope with it? What are some ways to let things go and not let them interfere with your life as much as they do? I started going to therapy...but I feel that wasn't quite enough. I still don't feel like I can just let it go and forgive those creeps. Just advice needed please...stories are fine...just no rudeness. Thanks.

I have never been through anything, but I know people who have. Yes, I think therapy is the way to go. And as you said, you have to forgive them. The therapist, unfortunately, can't do it for you (although I'm sure they wish they could.) Blessings and healing to you.

Some say forgiveness is a part of recovery. Other say it's not a necessary component. I'm on the fence.

I am sorry to hear this ever happened to you. I have not faced such situations before and probably can't say anything that might be helpful. I am sure everything I can think of saying you must have heard already. I don't understand how someones mind can be so vile ..to even think of a child in such a way.
