what can make A marriage Last ?

It is disturbing to note that the world's divorce rate is increasing based on recent statistics released by the UN’s Demographics and Social Statistics Division. The top 10 countries with the highest divorce rate are United states (53%), France (55%), Cuba (56%), Estonia(58%), Luxembourg (60%), Spain (61%), Czech Republic (66%), Hungary(67%), Portugal (68%), Belgium (71%). These statistics are quite shocking and can make a person wonder why couples find it so hard to stick to one another after making that solemn promise. Why can't the “For Better for worst, for richer and for poorer, In sickness and in health, until death do us part” promise be fulfilled ? I think the world needs a lot of marriage lessons. A lot of persons seems to go into marriage without actually preparing themselves for the realities of marriage life. Perhaps they look forward to “The they live happily ever after ending". But the happiness never came.” Marriage has it owns blessings as well as its own challenges. t is not exactly a bed of roses. So When challenges come, couples I feel should stick together and solve their problems and not run away from them. I am happy that here in mylot community we have so many elderly ones who have experience the joys and challenges of marriage, so I would like to call on all of you to be kind, by sharing your opinions so we all can learn. My question is What can make a marriage last ? Is there any special thing you did that made your marriage last, p/s tell us ? I say thanks in advance to all those who respond to this post.
