Early Morning Quiet

I’ve always loved the early mornings, but since my mother-in-law moved in with us, I’ve been getting up earlier and earlier. While the transition has been relatively smooth, I miss my quiet time. The only time I can count on working undisturbed is before dawn.
I used to start my day at six, but this last week I’ve been getting up before five. I get some time on the computer before I meet my girlfriend for our early morning walk at six. I usually have another hour or two after that before the rest of the household stirs.
Are you an early morning riser? What do you do to get that little bit of quiet time each day?

I am an early riser too, because I usually have a busy morning.Your mother-in-law's moving in seems to change your routine.Hope you will soon adjust to it.

I used to get up really early too but now we both spend a lot of time on the computers and it doesn't seem so necessary any more. If we have visitors I tend to get up very early and spend some time here before I have to act the hostess.

@transcendent We are very lucky and very thankful that our lives are mostly peaceful but busy enough to satisfy us.

I love that quietness a lot.It carries with it a unique & pure energy level & sanctity.that helps you to recharge your body & senses for the entire day.

I changed to be an early morning riser since a few years ago. Same as you, that's the only time I might be undisturbed while my children are still sleeping, so I can work with my computer, either reading some articles online, preparing for the homeschooling, working or just surfing net. I might still be disturbed, as my second child still wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes, and now my baby too.
I just started to do yoga practice in the early morning too.

Having kids tends to change most people over to early morning risers.

I do not make time schedules, I work or rest whenever I please but in cases where I am up early morning I love to pray during this time, thank the Lord for a new day and pray that the rest of the day would be fruitful and safe.

Sometimes I work in the quiet, but sometimes I put my music on. It's a good time to reflect and to pray.

I don't know what kind of riser I am at the moment. I'm up in the middle of the night to take my son home when he brings me back the car after his work shift, then I go back to bed to get up again a few hours later.
I was unaware your mother-in-law had moved in with you. I've been missing a lot of posts with this move, but now that it's over and done with, I should be back to reading like before.

She's been here for a couple of weeks now. It's going smoother than I thought it would. My one regret is that my husband and I planned on going on a cruise with some of my extended family. We may have to bow out. She can be left alone for a few hours, even a day but a week would be pushing it. She needs help bathing and she would mess up her meds.

Yes I usually get up between five and six. It's just my mother and I here now, and she doesn't disturb me though. I myLot and drink coffee till I wake up more and it's time to uncover my birds.

Oh Wow! I understand the importance of "me" time Betty. I'm keenly interested in knowing what work you do.
Nice to know you have adjusted to having your mother-in-law around @BettyB
Well, I'm not a very early riser. But I am generally up by 6 a.m. when I have to go for morning stretch exercise at our local community center.

I get up at 6:30 usually and then learn English for about 30 minutes before work. I love every new day, they are so nice.
