Choosing Sympathy or Empathy as means of justifying life's potentiality !!!

What's your immediate reaction when you see someone asking for alms or crying for help along the roadside or in public places ? Do you pause & look at him or listen to his words or simply pass away ? Some of you might perhaps give them some coins which are not even enough to buy a loaf of bread. It is something that i notice very often & it really hurts me.Being sympathetic is fine but i strongly believe that true justice for anyone or anything can only be provided if we think & act being empathetic.I have been practicing that ever since i gained wisdom & maturity and would definitely try to stick to it till my last breathe.A little more humanitarian approach towards those, less privileged, can certainly add to the greater good of humanity at large.

I give them money. But I believe it's the government who is best to help them. I pity them all but I'm not that rich to give them what they need because sometimes my finances are only enough for my family.

Its absolutely fine.I am glad that you at least try to help them despite your restricted budget.Actually my post is meant for those people who can really make a difference but they don't.

I don't know much about sympathy and empathy but when I see that kind of person I will surely help.

@arintellect007 Empathy is being practiced by medical practitioners. They cannot show sympathy if their patients are in serious medical cases.

@Shavkat Right.Their "Code of Conduct" won't allow them to act like that.

Glad to know that.Empathy is highly required to deal with problems in an unbiased manner.

I don't come across people like them... But I do share what I have with those who are less fortunate..

@arintellect007 So true, they seem not to care of all those poor people.

@arintellect007 Actually I hate sympathy..giving and taking...There are many people who are not in need ...they only tend..so what's the need.

@mavlana Is it possible to judge the authenticity of a sufferer at a mere glance ?
