How Much for the Dress

The dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang Happy Birthday to JFK on his 45th birthday is going to auction on November 17. It is expected to go for between 2 to 3 million dollars. I think someone will pay a lot more than that. Care to venture a guess?

No, I don't know how much it will go for. I know I would not want it. I don't think she wore underwear and I would not want to wear that dress even if it fit me.

I doubt anyone will wear it again. It will likely be bought as a collectors item for Marilyn Monroe or JFK memorabilia.

@noni1959 I don't know what they would do with the dress. Maybe stuff it with paper wads and pretend that she is still in it????

@clrumfelt Too bad it isn't put in the Smithsonian. I wonder what those who collect things at this expense do with the items. Do they put them in glass like art?

Not venturing a guess on this one, find it hard to believe that someone would be stupid enough to pay so much money for this.

True. People pay stupid prices for things every day. In 2008 a couple paid $1,300 for a cornflake because it was shaped like Illinois.
