Oh, Definitely. I tend to listen to music that reflects the mood I'm already in. But hearing a song from the past can bring back such strong memories, with all the related emotions involved.

@getthat Your feeling sorry for me is condescending. My life isn't sad, I'm not desperate if I don't listen to music. I dislike this wide-spread attitude that people who're not interested in music must be pitied as if they were lacking something..
Would you travel for hours and spend money to go to a museum and see an exhibition of paintings? I bet you wouldn't. What music is for you, the visual arts is for me. In contrast to you I don't feel sorry for people who're not interested in art. I don't care if they do or if they don't. It's their loss.

Definitely. Music can cheer you up or bring you down. One song can flood your minds with so many memories. Just a simple song can have so much effect on you. Music is a beautiful thing.

I also think that music is a good mood changer. When I am in a bad mood I try to find a song that I like with a good beat that I know the words too so that I can sing along too and that sometimes helps me get in a better mood. I like music with a good beat to it.

All I can say is music is a very powerful tool & it can greatly influence a person towards good or worse. Then again if we are in control we can turn the source of music off if we don't want it to negatively affect us & vice-versa

I use music often to set the mood. Certain types of music for concentration, another type for house cleaning, another for meditation, etc. music is a very powerful mood enhancer.

I think having music playing most of the time makes life peaceful. It helps a person to lay open their soul while erasing
pain from heartbreak. It is a stress reliever. When my daughter passed away in 2004 music kept grief down while at home or work. Losing a child is bad enough in this world. Music has a language of its own.

you know sometimes when u get really depressed and got yourself listening to some sad songs. Feels more depressed but at the same time pretty addictive and couldn't get enough of it if you get what i mean!

I believe so. Nothing can make me happier, sadder, or angrier than listening to music that fits into those.
