Hi All,
I'm new here. I never knew about these kind of discussion sites before. I am really honored & obliged to be here, if it really is the way it is expected to be.
It started in 2011. I met with an accident in October' 2011, a major accident it was. All I can say is that only & only because of God's Grace I'm alive today.
I was on bed rest for around 1.5 year or so, got time to think about myself, my mind, life, thoughts & stuff. Started reading few things, watched few videos, got time to think about Life & so on. And now from the past few years, I have a lot in my Mind to discuss, share, ask, question people from different background, culture, countries, religion & stuff. However, didn't have a platform. And I'm just thankful to the Universe that the Universe introduced this Discussion Forum to me to discuss things with People from different Religion, Culture, Countries & stuff.
Anyways, one of the Biggest questions I've had in my mind from a long long time is that People say that:
~ Jesus died for me / us.
~ Jesus died for my / our Sins.
~ And he mentioned that we all are Sinners.
The very first thing that is Jumbling in my head, Hovering in my head, Seeking an answer is that-
~ What exactly is a Sin?
~ How do you define a Sin being Neutral?
~ Can anyone has an answer or can explain this to me please?
I'll highly appreciate if someone can get me to an answer to this please.

Firstly welcome. I hope you enjoy your time on this platform. By all means, write as you please though consider that many of the members are diverse. I would like to follow this post but going to step back for a moment because I am thinking you do have some answers for your own questions and so wish to be quietly composed for a moment in time. Again welcome.

Thank you so much for your Kind & Generous comment & for welcoming me here. I highly appreciate the same.
And yes, indeed, I do have answers to all my questions & concerns I think. But they aren't enough for the Fulfillment I strongly feel. There's a void, that needs to be filled. And that's the reason trying to find some Wise opinions here from people.
I wish, this site is exactly the way I've imagined.
Anyways, you please carry on and stay Blessed.
Thanks for your precious comment.

@MarkStainer Thanks for comment. Do enjoy your time online as we are all in the same boat when it comes to being online. I wanted to wait and follow this thread to see how the comments progressed so to get a better understanding of the post.
I found it interesting that you don't consider a bible as reading material after asking questions about sin and Jesus Christ. It left me wondering from what source you were relying on to give any insights on the subject?

Thank you so much for your comment.
I'm sorry, please don't take me otherwise. But I don't feel like reading religious material as, I think, its a Knowing / Experience of someone else. However, I do read Quotes, watch Videos, saw the Movie "Son of God" a couple of times. But didn't feel like bounding myself to a religious Book or a religion.
As far as reading is concerned, I've just read "Tao Te Ching" and that too only one single translation of it. Not many.
I read about Buddha as well and honestly I'm kind of influenced with him. As he also refused to believe any religion or religious books, stating that "Its a Knowledge / Experience of someone else. So, how do you expect me to believe it." & stuff.
So, I wish to go by my Instinct, my Consciousness, my Inner calling. And got to know a few things by a few passages on FB, LinkedIn, Friends, Movie "Son of God" that Jesus spoke a lot about Sin & Sinners. So, got this dominant question in mind.

The way I explain and define sin is that it is anything which goes against or hinders or thwarts the Will of God.
Imagine the Will of God (or the purpose and aim of the Creator's creation, if you prefer) to be the flow of a great river, then anything which impedes or disturbs that flow can be called 'sin'. In human terms, any action or thought of ours which is does not further the purpose of creation or which seeks to achieve something different is sinful. Because we can never (or, at least, very rarely) know God's purpose completely, we are all, therefore, all 'sinners', regardless of how much we try to be 'good'.
The ultimate aim of anyone who wishes to avoid 'sin' should therefore be to understand and to be in accord with the Will of God as much as possible. This is only possible by recognising the presence of God in all things and by becoming humble, loving and open to Him. That is usually achieved by meditation and prayer and by reading what others have written about their experiences and communications in the Scriptures and other religious writings.
I don't understand what you mean by 'neiutral' sin. There is sin which is unintentional and caused simply by the fact that, because we are human and often don't understand God's purpose, we follow a path which may be defined by what we consider to be 'good' but is incorrect. Some religions call that 'original sin'.

@MarkStainer "I really don't know how to know God's will." Ask Him. He will show you. Mind, you have to learn how to listen and that is maybe the hardest part for most people.

Thanks, indeed that is the most difficult thing to do in today's world as we are distracted by more than a Billion things in Life.
Rumi said:
"Be Still & Know That You Are God"
"Silence is the language of God"
"Learn to be Silent & Listen"
And many other things he said about silence. However, that's this most difficult thing to attain it seems.
It's only because we've been misguided. We've been trained to be distracted from what's real & live the illusion.
And that's why it's a Trap, A Matrix, A Prison we're in.
We're afraid of being alone and being in silent. Knowing the fact that No One is Ever Alone.
I don't know what to do.
You're correct when you say ASK HIM. But we even don't know the way to ASK.

So what should we do according to you?
If I wish to live my life without Sins, if I wish not to be a Sinner anymore, what should I do? How should I live & lead my life? - As per you?
Because I really don't know how to know God's will. I don't know how to live with his Will & alignment with the source. How to live and follow his path in today's world? We all have to earn for a living. And whatever Job / Business we do, we have to lie at an extent in that to let it run smoothly. So, How to live without Sinning? Any suggestions please...... Thank you

Let me explain what I believe the meaning of sin. A sin is committed when one does something against the 10 commandments of God. Let us say I coveted my neighbor's beautiful and sexy wife (Thank God, I did not . . though I was really tempted), I would have committed a mortal (grave) sin. White lies, like telling your spouse that you like the smell of her perfume while you hate it, are what I consider venial (very light) sin. I have never heard about what you wrote - Neutral sin!

@MarkStainer I think it is better to leave the baddies to their own devices.
I tell them what they did was not right and move on.
Better not to think of them except to remember them for future guidance.
We are influenced by past karma and our awareness levels are different - siva

@Shiva49 Hmmm........ Yes, I guess, I'll have to learn it soon. Very soon.
As I feel, this is the only thing that's preventing me from moving ahead. I'll have to work on the same.
Thanks

That's Beautiful.
That's a Perfect way of Life one should & must live from.
I'm sorry but I'll be honest here that I don't live life like that. Though I wish to have my life in such a way that it becomes a service to others. I don't hurt anyone, never done that. But think bad about people a lot sometimes, who criticise me and do bad to me & stuff.
I would love to change that. Hope Universe will help me with that as well soon.
Thanks

@QueenAva I'm sorry, but its simple for those who believe it is. Just like you.
For me its hell complicated. Maybe just because I think A LOT.
I read somewhere that, there's nothing wrong with God's creation. All the Problems, Misery, Sufferings, do exist, but only in your Mind.
And that's what giving me stuff.......... But let me tell you, if its simple for you, I am very / extremely happy for you.
Stay Happy Stay Blessed

For me, Sin is hurting myself both physically and mentally, not loving myself, living in guilt and shame

Nice Anuj,
I like this reply. Indeed we've been creating many Voids internally by sins.
Nice. Thanks for your comment.
