I have come across several videos of older people who can dance like it's nobody's business. Do you think that dancers keep their youth well into their old age. The caption says that Toni Basil is 72 but watch her dance.
I'm amazed! I think I'm going to start a dancing program. Anybody want to join me?
Do you like to dance? Are you a dancer?
Toni Basil, 72 years old, young at heart and in body and mind, 'A Legend and Pioneer'. Toni was at the All4house workshop July 2016, showing she's still got ...

Wonderful that you can dance cha-cha and swing! I don't think that what we dance is important in staying young but that we dance and so keep dancing whatever dance you enjoy.

I don't know if you would call it dancing, but I move around a lot in a joyful, spastic, geeky way when I listen to classic rock and clean the house. I get the chores done a lot faster and it makes me happy!

I think any movement to music is dancing. So keep dancing to your heart's delight!

I have a lot of hardware in my back now, so I don't have the flexibility I used to. No, I was never a dancer but I did like to dance anyway.

I'm not much of a dancer either but do love music and pretend that I am dancing.

Yes, she is amazing! Well, I like to think that we are all dancers in our own way, especially when no one else is around as some of us are a just a little bit shy.

@just4him We do what we can!
In my Bible reading I came across this verse and I thought you might enjoy it. Psalm 150:4 (New International Version) 4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,

@1hopefulman If I could dance like that I wouldn't be shy. I don't consider myself shy anyway. I just can't dance anything more than shuffling my feet.

Oh, too bad you live so far away! From now on, whenever I get in the mood to dance, I'll remember that somewhere else there are many others also dancing.

I'm not a good dancer and very self-conscious of how bad I am. But tonight in the gym room, I was the only one there and so put on some music and between exercise sets I did some dancing, if one can call it that. It did make me feel good.

Maybe you could start a class yourself by finding a good dancer to teach the class voluntarily as you already have a couple of students?

I think doing anything that you really enjoy doing keeps you young. I remember our very first betamax video recorder Hey Micky by Toni Basil was the first thing we recorded and my kids played it over and over again. Happy memories stirred by this post. She doesn't seem to have aged much at all :D

I like to dance! Every body in my mother's side love to dance. It's in the genes. But these days, after my surgery I have limited mobility. My doctor told me that \i can resume in my Barre classes but \i must avoid ballet and zumba.

@1hopefulman 67 is still young. Of course you can still dance all you want.
Dancing makes us feel young because it is a really good form of exercise.

Dancing of any style is a pleasant activity if our health permits. I saw the video that you mention. I'm glad that some of us are able to keep dancing way into old age. I hope I can do that too. It would be nice.
