Many employer are checking ones credit score to see if they are good for hire. I believe a person credit score by no means a way to decide if a person can or cannot be hired. If a person have bad credit does not prove if they are going to be a good employee or not. Also people get bad credit due to varies reasons and few can be because they lost their job or have to take care of a love one, etc. It like saying if one graduated from a prestige college is best fit for a job. I want to know how you feel about this?

I agree. I don't think bad credit should determine whether you get a job or not. Many people fall on hard times through no fault of their own. People need to find a job to pay their bills so how will not hiring somebody because of their credit history get out the of situation they are in. This is not fair at all.

Yup people get bad credit due to faults not their own because situations can come up and that can't be control. I am sure the employer might have bad credit one day and see if the company going to continue to let them stay on the job.

Over here, it applies we are working in a bank or financial institution. Other than that, generally other employers do not look at credit rating...

I know financial institutions look at credit the most in hiring selection. I don't understand why they have to check. If the person have experiences and can count money then they should be good for hiring.

@CoolPeace because they seem to equate bad credit to not being able to manage own money. And they think that if one can't even handle their own finances well, it is not so safe to let them handle others' ??

I agree. Lots of people get behind just due to lack of employment.

@puroypoi. You might not get approved or get high monthly payments and interest rates.

I agree with you that bad credit should not be a reason not to hire someone for a job.I do know someone though that gets hired, and then gets fired a short time later due to his drinking problem. This problem has left him with bad credit. In this case, I would say that people with this type of problem may have an even harder time landing a good job.

You can hired someone with magnificent credit and get fired as soon they was hired, can be an undercover criminal that never got caught. Looks are deceiving the same for people with good or bad credit.
