Do You Have a Sunday Routine?

I'm not sure what the official "day of rest" for everyone in every country might be. Here we think of it as Sunday. There are families who go to church, or get together with relatives for a Sunday dinner, some people do Sunday brunches. A lot changed when stores and some businesses began opening on Sundays. And of course it is not the "day of rest" in every religion or tradition.
What I want to know is, do you or any of your family have a Sunday routine? The only difference in our house is my mother or I would fix a Sunday breakfast for my dad. He is now in a nursing home so we don't even do that anymore. But even back when I was a kid, my mother and/or Nana would make Sunday breakfast. Over the years, various ones of us dropped out of eating Sunday breakfast. During childhood, sometimes we went to church and sometimes not.
Back to the question: do you have a Sunday routine?

I think it's nice you go out to lunch on weekends. I never did that prep for the week thing, but looking back, things would have gone more smoothly.

@cinnamongrl Life lost its rhythmic pace once Sunday trading got started which I think is unfortunate. Days and weeks now seem to just run into each other whereas Sunday used to be a useful punctuation mark in the week. My Sunday starts at six in the morning and includes Church and a family meal.

That sounds nice. When the stores started staying open on Sundays, it felt very weird to me.

Back in the day, we had a Sunday routine as well. We spent it eating lunch in my grandparents' home. Now, both of them are gone so that routine has already stopped. Occasionally, my uncles' and aunts' respective families would have a get together and have lunch together.
Nowadays, my Sunday routine includes hearing mass in the afternoon and going out for dinner. That's about it.

@CinnamonGrl to quote V...
'I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke.'

I'm finding out that you have more of a routine than most people responding here.

Sunday is the official "day of rest" here where I live. All the stores are closed on Sunday, this is the day the families stay together. When I was a child, we always went to the Mass. Our Sunday routine is to walk to the center of the village and have breakfast in a quiet cafe. Then we walk back home and enjoy the day.

We like to think of Sunday as a day of rest (but with kids, there is no day of rest ). We don't really have a set routine - except that Hubby and I brew coffee on weekend mornings . . . and he will often be the one making breakfast (we don't have time like this on weekday mornings). Otherwise, anything goes thereafter. Like today we have a kiddie pool birthday to go to in the afternoon - and next weekend we go to my family's house to celebrate my birthday! See, there is no day of complete rest .

You're right, with kids it's not complete rest ever, lol.

I follow the same routine on Sundays as I do on every other week day; I get up early, eat breakfast, go to work, return home and go to bed early.
Rarely, I change this routine. When I do, I may go to the movies with friends and enjoy eating out.

I love to go out to eat. Not just for the food, but to escape having to cook.

Not really. We do often have a special breakfast on Sunday. But, since I took this part-time job a little over a year ago, I have worked many Sundays, only 11 to 4 though. On those days I suppose a routine has developed, I get up, start coffee, take Anne's coffee in, then myLot for bit. After she rises, we have breakfast, then I start getting ready for work.

Yes, that's Sunday routine, even if necessitated by your work scheduled.

Usually, I watch the pregame shows, then watch football all day. Since our TV is broken, I have to follow on the Internet.

I always wash my clothes on Sunday. It is just the way that it has always been in my house. Other than that I will do homework or nothing.

Doing nothing on Sundays sounds like a winner.

It is relaxing for me as there is no cyber school to do and we stay home after shopping on Saturdays. I do a lot of cleaning but I still feel its a pretty relaxing day.

A lot of people say "Sunday" is a day of rest, But to me that's one of my most busy days. Making sure my daughter clothes are out for the week of school, cooking Sunday dinner and I must add washing and doing my daughter her for the week.....smh Sunday is not a day of rest in my home. I wish!!!!
