Off to get a wisdom tooth out today. Wish me luck!

My one remaining wisdom tooth was used as an anchor for a bridge. But it finally started to decay, so out it comes today. I hope I can get things done later in the afternoon. Or maybe I'll be in a Vicodin-induced haze and write really weird posts later in the day. Wish me minimal pain!

I hate to go to the dentist. I wish you good luck, I still have two wisdom teeth, one has gone last year, the other many more years ago.

@TheHorse The first I had to remove, was due to the fact that it was growing sideways. The second one was starting to decay, I decided that it was better to pull it out. I had no pain at all.

@TheHorse Hey! I'm impressed! You can still write full sentences and not a single misspelled word in either sentence!

One at a time seems to be less debilitating. I actually had one out, then two, then this one.

Thanks! So far so good. Not a lot of swelling. Not a lot of blood. Not sure about the pain because the anesthetic hasn't completely worn off.

@Happy2BeMe I can feel the coolness from the ice bag on my cheek. We'll see what's next. Right now I'm thinking abut what mushy foods I can eat for lunch. They said by tonight I could eat normal stuff, so long as I chew on the other side.

I hope you have a fast recovery! Will you be going under or awake to hear the drilling and all that jazz! I was asleep when I got all four of mine removed several years ago!

@TheHorse That's good the drill was fairly low! I remember mine was loud right before I knocked out

I was awake. The drill sounds fairly low RPM and there were fewer crunching sounds than I remembered from the last time, which was about 15 years ago.

Thank you! The day actually went as well as it could have. I graded some scantrons before the anesthetic wore off and then found that the pain wasn't as bad as I expected. So I took a kid client hiking.

I like to get unpleasant stuff done as quickly as possible so I don't have to think about it. Today wasn't so bad.

They had left one of my wisdom teeth to anchor my partial too but it did have to be removed. I do believe that was the time I paid extra to be completely put to sleep.

Did you get the thing out? How long did it take to recover? My others came out one or two at a time, so I wasn't a chipmunk for too long.

@TheHorse Yes, I got it extracted eventually. It just took a week to recover.
