Not all flowers are beautiful, but the seeds may be wonderful

I have written before about some exotic sunflowers we planted, as well as some that grew from birdseed that I scattered around. This is one sunflower near the front corner of the house that flowered but is anything but beautiful. I doubt that the squirrels will bother with it, but the seeds might be delicious. It is very hardy looking and shows no sign of giving in to the cooler weather.
Maybe some of us humans are like this, living long, standing tall, just doing the best we can.

The squirrels destroyed all the others, but Anne did manage to cut some for the house and we liked them while they lasted.

I do believe you're right. Any sunflower is nice, but I thought this was strange, I once buried cucumber pickles that didn't turn out right in the edge of our garden. the next spring there were cucumber vines all over the place. I didn't expect that.

You don't like that sunflower? For some reason ours are growing with multiple flowers now too...I have NO idea why. We only have one this year that had just one large flowering head.
They are all way past blooming now and need to be pulled.

I am a plant and flower lover and so is my wife, who has planted a lot of flowers and plants in flower pots in our balcony. The best plant is the sunflowers we plant. In late autumn, it starts to fade, but in the next late spring, the seeds in the flower pots start to grow, which is easy to take care.

The sunflowers certainly seem to have some personality about them, growing so tall and producing so many seeds. The birds love them and don't mind at all if the heads are a little ugly.

@Marty1 Height depends upon the variety. Some are small short bushes, some are giants.

Wouldn't the birds try to pluck out the seeds?

@JamesHxstatic - It may not be beautiful, but could be nutritious ... especially for a squirrel! Who knows?
