I was surprised that an online student of mine was allowed to have computer games at school in China. Let me put it this way, the students are learning IT subject that includes playing computer games. I find it weird or even strange. If I am a parent, I will not allow this kind of course to my child. It seems that they are encouraging the child to be addicted to computer games. What do you think?

It's not weird or strange at all! Games help people learn in ways that are actually more effective than 'traditional' learning methods, because they use a rewards system and they're actually enjoyable. Not only will the student probably perform better in class, but there's also a great chance that they'll actually retain the information much longer than they would if they were to simply study it for a test.
It's also more hands on, and involves doing, instead of memorizing rotely. So that also helps with information retention and engagement, and therefore with performance.
