Who are you, really?

Did you ever dream that you were totally someone else? Wednesday night I had such a dream. No, I did not dream I was famous. I dreamed I was someone I know online. I have lots of friends from all over the world, thanks to myLot and other websites. I dreamed I was someone I know in that way. I have never met her at all. In my dream her kids were mine and I had some of her talents, and I was just totally "her" . It was the oddest feeling when I woke up. How about you, any strange dreams? When you wake up do you know who you really are?

It used to be rare when I was actually myself in a dream. I would be a different man, a woman, a monster, a demon, an angel, someone fighting god on even grounds (and ultimately reaching a draw) and so on. I've never been an animal in a dream, but I'm a lot of different things. The only thing I don't like is when I have a power dream and I wake up and I no longer can use that power. :D

That would leave you with a feeling of disappointment I would think.

@GardenGerty There are many things I wish I could do in the real world that I can now do in dreams. I have several abilities while dreaming that I can use no matter what the dream is. 'Channel Changer' to switch from one dream to another if I don't like where the dream is going. 'Auto-solve' for those annoying riddles or test dreams where you can't figure it out and wake up frustrated, this solves the problem completely. 'Temporal Reversal' in order to reverse time or a single event in order to fix something that was broken or make a bad situation disappear. They are all really handy for when dreams are putting too much burden on me. One time a tree fell on my house and smashed the wall (in a dream) and I reversed time and the tree was standing like normal again and everything was fixed. It's really cool to watch time flowing backwards. I used it on a car that got destroyed as well. It would be handy if I could use that in reality. :D

Wow, that is some dream I wonder if your adventure will continue every night. I had a strange dream about adopting a blind kitten. It was treading water in a cup with only its nose above the water line so it could breathe. Goofiest dream I can ever remember having.

@GardenGerty I don't like my dream. It is scary and creepy and I don't know why I dreamed it. I hope I never do again.

I never had a dream like that, but I did dream one time that I was "inside the head" of some guy from Scotland (I didn't know him) and he was photographing the snow from a porch or deck. He was bending down to take pictures from under a railing. It was weird.

Yes, that does sound unusual. So you were seeing things from his point of view.

Often if I have an unusual dream it is because I have eaten something strange.

@GardenGertyif you had a dream about someone no longer living there are some that would say that you are remembering a past life. I have had dreams sort of like that. Don't know what it means when you dream you are someone else who is alive.

@GardenGerty yeah, I saw that. It stumps me as to why you would dream you were them. I guess dreams just are what they are.

Some of my dreams I am me, but I am also a character from a story. Mostly I do not remember my dreams.

What a funny dream you had !Here on Mylot, all use usernames and few people use their portraits as avatars,so we can just know what they tell us via their posts, which isn't enough to let me dream about them.

I have seen avatars of this person and read things about her life so I guess I just dreamed myself into her life. I do know what she looks like as well as her family.

Once I had a dream about the Civil War, I was a man and I was fighting in the war and when I woke up I had such a heavy confused feeling.

I have had dreams that left me feeling that way. Luckily this one did not, and I was pretty logical about the whole thing.

I had a strange and unrealistic dream right before waking up this morning. I sure wish I could remember what it was about. I just remember waking up and going, "Woah, what just happened? I've never been to that place or with any of those people in my life."

I admit to having strange dreams...sometimes I am just an onlooker. Not sure I've ever dreamt that I was someone else....or maybe I have.

I do not think I am unhappy with who I am, maybe I was trying to be supportive of my friend in this way.

I've had plenty of strange dreams, and I have dreamed about my Lotters. But I'm trying to remember if I ever dreamed I was someone else. I don't think so. That is an interesting dream! I wish we could have seen it.

Can't say that I've had a dream like that before. That would be a bit trippy when you wake up. My dreams are more about loved ones and things that we have done or something we want to do. Once in awhile I do have an odd one but it's been awhile and I can't recall all about it just now. Have a blessed day

It was hard to get back to just being me. I think this may have been my mental way of being supportive to her.
