An Intimate Celebration So Worth Attending

Hubby , me , mother-in-law and auntie went to their niece’s house for her invitation of a late birthday lunch celebration of hers , yesterday , after attending the mass . We bought a cake as our gift for her . But when we arrived we were surprised that the guests were just us and the immediate family at the compound . The food was plentiful , 3 of which was bought from a caterer while the rest were cooked by her hubby and one of their relatives in the compound . But amongst the foods , I really so like is the one cooked by her hubby , the mixed dish of beans , string beans and moringa cooked in spicy coconut milk and with prawns . Gosh , I ate a lot of that and see for yourself what is am talking about in the pictures of some of the foods . The price of an intimate celebration . And we were given a take out , which we ate for dinner that night . Do you agree that an intimate celebration of relatives is the one worth attending ? Have you attended and enjoyed one also ?

All of a sudden I feel like eating something! I think that I also would have liked the mixed beans dish but would certainly take a bit of the others to try. I like to try all the dishes just to see which one I will take seconds of if still hungry after.

This is a lot of delicious food, I would have also chosen the shrimps, one of my favorite food. I also prefer to attend intimate celebration, better if at home and not at a restaurant.

Yes, actually , i didn't expect it to be lots of foods , when she met us at the door and said it is just us and the family . I always choose the shrimps too , second to lechon if there is , when on parties .

Now, I have to hate you for 5 minutes for showing those yummy Filipino foods @SIMPLYD ! Why? Because right now I am eating junk food (MacDo) as no one cooked for lunch.

And for you to drool more and envy me , i will enumerate them ; chicken galantina , fish fillets with dressings of shredded mango and others , fried chicken , shrimps in butter , pork steak and my fave the moringa with beans and string beans cooked in coconut milk , made spicy by chopped chili. Don't worry , i also sometimes would eat at McDo when the craving strikes me . But i thought you are a healthy buff ?

The pictures do tell the story. I had just the reverse experience. I was visiting a relative of mine after many years. She lives in a place where I have friends.I had invitations from 2 friends both wanted to take me to some posh restaurant for lunch. I declined both invitations and ate at my relative's place. I regretted my decision. Please do not ask for details. I have a society that is busting with love and affection but not so my family.

Yes they were indeed . ALthough most of them were ordered , though the one made by her hubby stood out for its deliciousness . And yes , the atmosphere at home is incomparable , everyone if freer to laugh out loud and can stay until whatever time that all stories were told already .

It's always these small party celebrations that turns our so enjoyable indeed . The stories seems unending and so did the laughter . I assure you that one is so delicious , i had to go back at the buffet table and have a big serving of it .

Those are the best kind of meals. I typically get together with family on holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas. We all bring a dish to pass along with whoever is cooking the main meal.

Indeed , i also feel the same way . At least the talks will be much more about the family and the eating more freer and talks can extend to hours . And those foods above , they are all delicious . But one food stood out of its deliciousness to me .

That is good , because even if they are gone already , the family still remember their birthdays . A gathering that is of the family is so very enjoyable because they get to share stories and eat much too .

Thank you . I assure you they were all so delicious . But of course there will always be the best one for each person . And for me it's the moringa and beand with prawns cooked in coconut milk that is the best tasting in addition to it being a healthy food , the one on the bottom at the right side .
