October 5, and I went swimming!!

Canada
October 5, 2016 6:41pm CST
I can't remember doing that ever-and as I sit, I am wearing a t-shirt and shorts. I was coming home, and was hot, and as I was going by the lake I had wondered what the water would be like? The last few times I had tried to go out on the boat the boat launch had been too full of cars, and so had the dock so I had no where to park. But today, surprise, there was NO ONE there. Well, that's no surprise, it is after all, October the 5th. Who in their right mind is thinking of the lake at this late time? I parked. I giggled slightly at the sheer novelty of the idea-this lake is deep and while in other shallower lakes some may dare...this is no such place. But I went in. And it was great!! Mmmmm, and though I realize that it was great, it's probably a bad sign for the world if a Canadian in a deep cold lake is able to comfortably go swimming at this time.

Are you in Canada? Is it not freezing cold there? I think it must be. How could you go out?

Yup, I'm in Canada, and nope, it's October and it's 25 out...it hasn't been like this before during the fall. The winters where I am used to be minus 25-30 on bad days...but the last 10 years have been, different.

@hebrewgreekstudies Most of the beaches I swim at are totally empty or almost. Nothing better than taking a plunge in the North Atlantic just as autumn is turning into winter. Most bracing, and since there are usually no people first thing in the morning shirts and teeshirts can be dispensed with!

It certainly was beautiful enough to do it here today. Not sure what part of Canada you are in.
