@Yh1001 I ride the train for about an hour to get to church every Sunday. I can only read for part of that time or I get motion sick. So I do a lot of thinking and praying and observing the people around me. If I get a seat I even do some sleeping! I have a smartphone now and sometimes I even comment on myLot, but I don't try to start discussions from my smartphone because in between stations it disconnect sometimes. I do some Facebooking too.

Maybe, if you like reading, you could listen to an audio book. They are very well-read and a great way to pass the time.

Read and if I have internet, I do mylotting. Or sometimes I just play games on my cellphone, or day dream, or just thinking of what to eat when I got home, or thinking of what Korean drama I will watch when I of home.

Maybe you can try to download an app to listen to some talk show program on some content you would be interested in.

@Yh1001 sorry for making you misunderstand what i am talking about, i mean some app like radio app, just listen, no need to see. you can even close you eyes, just like listen to some music.Anyway this is only one of the ways, maybe there are many other good ways.

I mostly listen to music ..or just look out the window day dreaming and wondering about a thousand things. reading is hard if i am traveling in public buses...since sometimes sitting is not an option.

How about listening to the music or watching a movie or reading a book? I think those are the most common things we can do when we are travelling.

i can read if i'm sitting forward, like in a bus. i can't read or use gadgets if i'm sitting sideways, like in a jeep or train. mostly i'd rather look out the window (whether in a bus, jeep or train) or close my eyes but still attuned to my surroundings. i don't wear earphones. i don't mind listening to whatever music is being played in public transportation, as long as it's not too loud.

I get that problem a lot as well! But I feel bored sometimes just looking at the surroundings and not doing anything, thus trying to find alternatives
