I just put a homemade - from scratch - apple cake. I ended up with a couple of bags of apples, too many for me to eat before they would start getting soft, so I decided to make an apple cake. It really is an easy recipe. It contains 3 cups of sliced apples. It is so moist and filling that you won't believe it. Wait till my honey gets a load of it. He loves this cake and is always pestering me to make it. It is great warmed up with vanilla ice cream.

I made some homemade applesauce in my crockpot a couple of weeks ago, and it was absolutely heaven! What a difference between the homemade stuff versus the stuff you buy at the grocery store!

There is a huge difference. Have you tried making fried apples with cinnamon and sugar. They are terrific.

@HazySue I find that part a chore too when I make apple strudles or something when I need to slice the apples really thin...

I love apple cake. The only real work to making it is peeling and slicing the apples.

@HazySue I find some and write them or add to Pinterest. Some have way too many ingredients. I like simple but delicious.

@noni1959 I like the simple recipes too. When they become complicated they end up cost more than they are worth.

That looks delicious. After this past weekend I'm off sweets. I'm going to need to spend extra time in the pool to make up for it. I don't even want to step on the scale for at least a week after the conference this past weekend - which was GREAT! Unfortunately so were the snacks several people brought to share. Particularly the soft, moist pumpkin cookies with chocolate chips in them - also made from scratch. I'm sure your honey will love that cake.

We also love apple cakes, pies and everything with apple. It's cold here and I prefer to prepare a vanilla custard to serve warm with the apple pie instead of an ice cream.
