In promoting tourism in our nearest beautiful place bhoothathankettu there done a jeep mud race on the occasion of Onam . Track done in a dried water land more than 2Kilometers.Many professionals took part in the race. Huge crowd came to view the race. Interesting part is that a local fellow won the race with his ordinary Jeep other than the high end jeeps and professionals. He is a high range native. http://youtu.be/p5qA7CBoHMQ

I have read that we had a mud race last Sunday here in Switzerland, not using jeeps, but walking. 13 km with 22 obstacles, there were 150,000 participants. Not for me!

13 KM is a Marathon one. If the KM is less than 5 do you took part in it Anna?

@shshiju NO the Marathon is exactly 42.195 Km. I can walk very well for 13 KM, what I would never do is walk in the mud.

A local fellow won the race with his ordinary Jeep only! He must be very happy and proud that he won over those professionals with high-end jeeps. Hahaha! i wonder how those professionals reacted.

That would be indeed interesting to watch . I think winning isn't dependent on the kind of jeep one has . It depends on how good he is able to maneuver in such kind of terrain .

Jeep depends because it will perform well in all terrain . Tyres are big one to support any type of place. But he competed with ordinary one and it is purely skill and talent

I enjoy going to mud runs. They are fun to watch and great entertainment. We have them often around here. They always draw a large crowd.

Snake boat race competition in onam is very popular. This Jeep Mud race is done in behalf of tourism promotion by the authorities. But it is not the part of the traditional games like snake boat race, Onathallu, Pulikali etc.
