Cherries For Relief of Gout

Again from the book in the picture , it was mentioned that almost immediate relief can be achieved by eating cherries .
This cure was discovered by a Texan , Ludwig Blau .
It was said that he ate fresh cherries in the evening and his gout decreased in the morning . Then after 10 days of eating 6 to 8 cherries a day , the gout was gone .
And as long as he eats 6 cherries each day he did not have an attack.
Fresh or canned , sweet and sour cherries will do .
How’s that for a natural remedy of gout ?
For those with gout, I think there’s no harm in trying .

I have read that some patients pretend that eating 20 cherries a day helped to solve the problem, but there is no scientific proof that eating cherries lower the risk of recurrent gout attacks. Cherry extract works a little better, it works for about 40% of the patients.

@SIMPLYD Cherries,Plums, peaches, apricots and siniguelas and duhat are from the same family. they were stone fruits. Duhat is the most common stone fruit in the Phillippines. They have the same benefits with fresh cherries.

@SIMPLYD Yes, I guess it's because they are imported. I have no idea why I don't like it, perhaps I am just not so fancy of berries. I tried blueberries and don't like it too. My children like them too.
It could also be I have been eating the canned cherries since I was young and didn't really like the smell. They are always on the cakes, though I liked to eat them when I was young.

Fresh cherries is good for the health but not Maraschino cherries that is used as cake toppings because Maraschino is just glorified candy.

@SIMPLYD They were drowning in syrup. Cherries are not naturally bright red. It is usually dark red when its fresh.

I really have heard about this before and know that cherry eating is supposedly good for arthritis too! It is a wonderful antioxidant. They are expensive though- but I wish I could eat more of them. There's a juice that's great for you as well.
