I am off from work this week to write some examinations - I just thought I would take a break and read a few blogs written here. It seems everyone is okay, quite happy, having gotten paid last week. I might make it this month if I get my be-hind in gear as they say. Topics of conversation - travel. I am looking for somewhere to go on a lovely holiday - obviously it will be local because I have not saved enough to go abroad. Such a GRAND word "abroad" ! I remember when I was young, when the folks said they were going ABROAD - then you thought they had lots of money to do so, well that is pretty much as it is, to go abroad you need the money. Spaghetti Bolognaise for supper tonight - so I am going abroad with my meal, Italy here I come.

Yes, us here also in the Philippines , when one said she's going abroad , we think that the person is rich . On the other hand she /he can be going abroad to work as overseas contract worker .

rebel_woman06 even if you want to work abroad and you live in phillipines you need to have some money right? Because i know that phillipines is a poor country so going to work abroad is not for poor people right?

@sweetloveforeve That is true . For one to be able to go abroad for pleasure , one really must be so moneyed . But poor people go abroad , to make more money because foreign currencies that they earn there when converted to pesos would already be so many times bigger .

I am thinking of having Spaghetti for supper tonight also. I read on there that it is Pasta Day so why no? I hope you figure out somewhere fun to go for your holiday!

I also think the same way us others think but when I went to abroad working for several years, life away from the family was so so hard specially when I am sick. No one cared for me when I'm on bed.

I like how you associated your meal with going abroad! LOL! I want to go out of the country and travel with my husband too. However, like you said pay your bills first before anything else! I am still hoping that we can go for a short trip on our own.

You are right when someone says that is going abroad we always habe the idea that the person is rich.sure we need to have money to do so but i think that if for example your parents pay bills and you have your entire salary for yourself maybe you can travel somewhere once a year at least. But if not is complicated. Transports are too expensive

i didn't make it last month, but now i definitely will. you're right about how travel was different back then. now, with budget airlines, more filipinos have been able to travel within the country and around asia. we had spaghetti i think two weeks ago.

I love it. It is like traveling through pictures because not able to go to the places in person.
