There are some things that I will buy that are only named brand. Like macaroni and cheese. I find the off brands not as good as the Kraft brand. I will usually try and off brand and see if I like it. If I do I have no problem buying it again.

on some items, i will admit, it has to be brand name.... but on other items, if its knock off brand and its 1/3 the price, why not save money?
i mean, look at soda. the cheap stuff tastes the same as the stuff that is 4x the price....
or at least i think so....

I buy few name brands. and it depends on what is in the ingredients. I worked in the food industry and I learned the often the store brands are just the name brands in disguise. Loike Wal-mart store brand of mac & cheese could be Krafts. And green beans are grean bean except some of them have more salt or have sugar in them.

I definitely am. I look for brands which strike a good balance with reputation and price.
However, I'm not crazy enough to buy things whose prices are over the roof!
Good day to you.

I shop by price whether the name brand be cheaper or the store brand be cheaper...I buy what is the cheapest by unit...such as the libby's veggies at shaws a couple of months ago were 4/$1... I had coupons for .50/3 which of course made them free..... I had so many veggies stalked ahead but dh then was diagnosed with high blood pressure along with other things so I had to take all 100 cans down to my dad's house cause we can't eat them here as they have way to much salt in them... oh well...

Normally, I buy by price. But, like everyone else, there are certain things I like only the name brand version. Kraft is my choice in mac and cheese as well. Also, I prefer to have Swanson Chicken broth instead of other brands, and t.v dinners, we buy only Healthy Choice.

No I am probably more price conscious than brand conscious.

I shop by brand. I would never by something cheap. I'm not loyal to a specific brand, but I want a known one - only when we talk TVs and other stuff like that. If we talk clothing and food and other items like that then I don't care about the brand.

I am pretty conscious of what I wear. Labeled clothes look better to me in some way.

I stick to certain brands but I find the item that I want and I wait for it to go onsale. When it reaches the price that i am willing to pay, then and only then do I purchase it. I hardly ever pay full price for anything.
I taught this skill to my daughters also. They still call me when they get a good deal.

Before yes I am. But now that I'm already a mom, I tend to be more thrifty and buy the lower priced item.
