Do you build a better burger?

We had some frozen turkey burgers for lunch to day (I did cook them first) and I was watching the way we each built our burgers. To start with, I put mayo on one bun and then put mustard on the other. Anne puts mayo, then lettuce, then mustard all one one bun. I use a thin dill pickle slice and put it right in the middle. She cuts hers up and gets a bite each time. She always uses onion and ketchup, I sometimes use onion, never ketchup. So, I was wondering, are you fussy about the way you put a burger together? Is it always in the same order? How about your partner or other people you dine with? Have you ever noticed?

I put everything on one side and put it together. I like two pickle slices crossing over each other. I don't like mustard but I like ketchup. My fiance dresses both sides. He puts mustard on one side and ketchup on the other. He doesn't always take pickles but he has to have onions.

I must admit I've never noticed but we don't have burgers too often. We sometimes make sandwiches but place the meat and salad pretty much the same.

Do you eat lamb often? I love the flavor of lamb kebobs. (Not for burgers)

@JamesHxstatic Lamb is pretty expensive here although I love lamb chops. We seem to eat a lot of chicken and pork in various guises.

@JudyEv So do we actually. Lamb is expensive here, but I thought there was a lot where you live.

I have to admit that we never make hamburger on a bun.

@JamesHxstatic There is one McDonald in the area and they serve the burger on a bun, but at home people serve the hamburger with vegetables, or French fries, on a dish, not in a bun.

Interesting. Perhaps it is not such a custom there.

hmm, 'tis been some years since i've eaten a burger i'm strugglin' how i used to fix mine. ne'er ketchup 'r mustard. black pepper bacon cooked crisply, set 'bove a bed 'f spinach leaves which rested'n a lovely ripened mater slice 'r 2. i do agree with ms. anne though 'n prefer to've all the flavors with each bite. don't reckon i've paid much mind to how others put theirs together.

I'm pretty boring. Bun + catsup + lettuce + turkey patty. But I like it that way.

I make the patties when we have ground beef burgers and use some breadcrumbs and Worcestershire sauce with some garlic powder and herbs.

i probably follow a method, but i'm blanking right now.... i usually am thinking about how it will all hold together best. and i love LOTS of pickles... so sometimes that's tough... trying to fit in the pickles and the onions and the lettuce....

One pickle sandwich slice is enough for me. Grilled onions would be really good.

My first job was at Wendy's, and I was taught that with a good sandwich, you should taste every ingredient in every bite. The order was, mayo, ketchup, pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce, with mustard spread on the meat or cheese. No matter what ingredients the patron asked for, it had to be in that order. It kind of stuck. I like mayo, pickle, tomato, lettuce, and mustard on my cheese.

I was hoping that a former fast food burger person would respond. I may try that order, especially the mustard on the cheese. Thanks!

I do mine up quite simple because i don't like things falling or slipping out when i eat it. I add pickle, mayo, lettuce, onion and ketchup to my burger. Sometimes the mayo has other flavors in it so that helps with variety.

The one we had that day was from a store, frozen turkey patties. We also have beef burgers and there are frozen black bean burgers.

Not fussy about my burgers at all: just mustard and raw onion and the patty, that's all.

When I order I usually order the same. I like onions. My son doesn't, but we agree on the other condiments that go on it - pickles, lettuce, tomato, mustard, and ketchup.

@JamesHxstatic No. At home I typically just put ketchup and mustard on it, unless I really want to go all out, then I'll add pickles and onions, and if I want fancy, I'll make them grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. I don't do that very often though.
