He is a disgusting human being nevermind the fact that he is unfit to be in charge of the world's greatest military force or our nuclear weapons. This is going to be a disaster.

Let's hope he isn't trigger happy or press-the-button happy.

Do you think his party colleagues will have some influence and keep him under control?

I seriously hope that you are not identifying Trump with Macbeth from this scene. It ended with Macbeth deciding to travel to England, which is the last thing we want Trump to do.

@pgntwo Even I appear sane when compared with Trump.

@Asylum Wasn't there something about US presidents and leap years...? He's no spring chicken (with all due respects). Old dogs and new tricks come to mind.

@maluse This is the outcome of democracy, just like Brexit, so the people will have to live with it.

@WorDazza A German saying translated into English goes like this: "Only the most stupid of calves/ vote for the person who cuts them in halves."

@ElizabethWallace I suppose both of them were probably unsuitable candidates so the electorate were caught between a rock and a hard place. But then again they voted for them as the respective party nominees so really only have themselves to blame. As the saying goes, we get the politicians we deserve!!

No, it says more about the country than either of them.

If Congress is good enough, that will contain the damage that Trump will inflict. He can't run a country like the way he runs his company. he just cannot get rid of anyone in Congress just because he is not happy with them.

I too am flabbergasted at the outcome and cannot believe that the Americans put their faith in such a person. Its going to be a 'wait and see how the Trump gets Bumped!'! Disaster

Well, hopefully his colleagues might be able to keep some sort of rein on him. When you go back over all the things he says he's going to do, ..... words fail me.

It's a bad day for democracy as more people voted for clinton than trump....so I'd say any anti trump protests should be about electoral reform as the election is done and dusted. But I also think his rhetoric in the campaign was designed to get votes from certain population sections...I don't believe he's going to start ww3 or anything. The first sign of his real intent will be when he names his team....so I'll just wait and see as I remember the brexit backlash and all the fearmongering then that came to nothing.

I say that, too, occasionally. It's strange that Germans use this saying considering that they're predominantly coffee drinkers.
