Do you drink alcohol during the day?

I was trying to think of something I could write about today. There's a big elephant in the room. One Facebook friend asked his mates how they coped last night. What emerged was a discussion of various alcoholic beverages. For me, it was Scotch and Two Buck Chuck (not mixed). A friend came over and we imbibed and discussed politics. A funny thing about me, though, is that I don't drink during the day. There was a time in this Country when business men had martinis with lunch. I don't know if that's as common as it once was. Even if I go to a day baseball game, I don't drink beer like my friends do. Occasionally at an afternoon music party I will, but that's the only exception to my general rule. At night, I tend to "party," especially if music is involved. Do you drink alcohol during the day? Do you drink alcohol at all?

@thehorse if out for lunch I might have a pint of Guinness, the drink that goes with everything and can even substitute for a course in its own right. Other than that I reserve my imbibing activities for after dark.

Did anything in particular lead to that decision? When I was a kid, it seemed that most (but not all) of the grown-ups I knew drank at least some. Now, it's the same. But I tend to hang out with a "professional yet partying" crowd.

I relax too much, so booze is only drunk where I plan on crashing for the night, safer that way

I now the price has gone up, so is it really still called "Two Buck Chuck?" Isn't it more like three bucks now? hahaha I don't like day drinking because I often will get a bad headache by the late afternoon. I don't know why it happens to me when I drink during get day, but I don't have that same problem when I drink at night.

I must admit I'm not a good drinker as a small sip would turn my face red like a half baked crab.

Last night would have been a good night to drink if I did. I have a nice cocktail when we go out for a nice dinner. Doesn't happen but every three or four years.

Maybe I will tomorrow. It will be Saturday, and the only "work" I'll have to do will be grading papers. And restoring another pair of vintage Wharfdale loudspeakers.

@TheHorse Cannot say that, but I am actually from Punjab where most of people are Non-Veg, but a good number are Vegetarian. In some states like Bengal - People can be forced to become non-vegetarians as vegetarians are considered evil by Communists. While in some states majority is vegetarian like Gujarat.

I drink rarely and come to think on it most of my drinking, when it does happen, is at night. What is a Two Buck Chuck?

When I have to teach an evening class, I resist the temptation until I get home. I'm a bit of a "partier," but not when there's work still to be done. I DO drink while restoring speakers and/or performing music, though.

I think many people have that first drink to "de-stress" after a busy day.

Funny, the bottle shown in your pic came up when I looked up Two Buck Chuck - not a term I had heard before. Cheapest bottle of plonk here is about 3quid, say 5bucks.
