Self-Control?

How often have you bought a standard-size chocolate or candy bar from a vending machine and not wolfed it down in a single sitting?
Do you see what's printed on the top-right corner of the Golden Crisp bar in the picture above?
Who are the manufacturers trying to fool...?
Or maybe I'm just a greedy glutton.
Note: 54g is just shy of 2oz, 2 ounces, for any US readers.
Chocolo Roberto finds these Cadbury Ireland beauties hidden away in his local supermarket...so do the Irish have it better? Watch and find out!

I don't eat much chocolate or candy but when I do, I usually eat the whole thing.

Uhm... is your country on a health kick, pgn? Are they trying to suggest that people need more portion control? Is that company plain stupid? (I would wager the company has a new marketing director who is trying to start a trend either on smaller candy bars or on portion control. I seriously doubt it will work!)
I will admit, I have bought candy bars I did NOT finish off right away after opening them.... the one pound Snickers bar I bought two Christmases ago lasted about a week with both Pretty and I eating slices of it whenever we wanted one... the two pound Reese's Peanut Butter Cup I bought last Christmas (Yes, that is ONE Peanut Butter Cup that weighed two pounds!) lasted both of us a week and a half... it only lasted that long because we went to my sister's house for three days but didn't take any of it with us! LMAO! (It was REALLY good! ) It was really difficult to cut it up, too! I finally just cut it into pie wedges and we nibbled on them off and on throughout our day.
Then there was the Hershey Milk Chocolate Kiss that weighed almost three pounds I bought two years ago at Valentine's day. It was supposed to belong to Pretty, but after I got it cut (yes, with a hacksaw) into manageable pieces, she gave me half. We didn't eat it nearly as fast as the other two. IDK why, though. It lasted about a month.
So, yes, there have been occasions where we didn't finish a candy bar in one sitting, but I doubt anyone would finish those in one sitting!
Do you KNOW why they put the candy into a re-sealable package, pgn?

@pgntwo Well, then that is just weird! They usually announce when they make any changes and why!
Yeah, Pretty told me not to buy any more candy bars like that again! She is trying to lose weight this year! (She's actually doing really well! She's lost over 40 pounds in about 4 months! She is looking good!)
Can't tell I'm a proud daddy, can you? LMAO!

Wow, some serious candy munching stories there!
No, I have no idea why they have decided a resealable wrapper is something people want on their chocolate bar.
I preferred the nice thin gold foil covering and paper sleeve, must find a picture...

I do have some self control, because I can buy an over sized candy bar, break it in half, eat one half one day and the other half the next day.

@pgntwo The cellar is cool enough so that the chocolate keeps well, but not as cold as a refrigerator that kills the flavour of the chocolate. Most of our stored food is in the atomic shelter, it's perfect, temperature around 18 degrees Celsius during all the year, dark, no windows, no dust. I see no other use for this room.

@LadyDuck I have been discussing with Friend Gus, @Ceerios (long story), the best place to be in the event of a nuclear strike: shielded by gold (better than lead for keeping those radioactive waves at bay).
Now there are rumours of Switzerland and much, much gold... Probably not in your atomic shelter though, barring the logo on the Lindt box.

The pack is designed and made in such a way that it can be resealed, and there is a big corner print that says "Easy Reclose Pack", as you can see in the picture.
The point is, as this is sold as an individual portion pack, with just over 50g, about 2oz, of chocolate inside, who would even want to reclose such a small pack?
