Some people deal with their own depression state. I had read that people tend to eat while sleeping. It sounds weird, but it happens to some people who cannot deal with their own nightmare in life. The sleep-eating disorder is well known as “night eating syndrome.” How do you deal with your own depression?

First time I heard of it. I mostly spend time with myself or read novels.

@Shavkat Yes because we might do something stupid or dangerous to ourselves. I hope it wouldn't get to that point.

Books are good for relaxation. Good especially when you cant sleep. However as students, we used to read our text books and promptly go to sleep. :)

Wow. It's an odd eating habit. I don't eat while sleeping when I'm in depression. I tend to lose my appetite when I feel depressed..

Oh geeze, I am so glad I do not do this. I eat enough when I am awake, let alone to sleep eat.

I think that is a good way to brush off the cause of depression.

I deal with depression by locking myself at my room, and staying there as long as i want, sleeping my depression out.

I also do the same thing. Sleeping all day and all night can help us feel fine. It is also a good place to have our own reflection over something.

Its like it varies from people to people .. and how one can manage with their problem , though I don't have night eating syndrome ... But it can happen to others ... Basically have to look up to a doctor ...if one cannot control

Isn't that odd!! I have never heard of it. My way of dealing with depression, which I think that I have managed to kick... is to go shopping. Kicked that too!

Depression are in different forms, and in whatever form, they have their specific knock out prescription or recommendation. What heals this may not heal that. You get?

Obviously one can't sleep and eat simultaneously. It could be that one doesn't get sleep and therefore eats in depression. Best option is physical exercise. I generally pace up and down my room when i am sleepless. Once tired, i get good sleep.

I like the idea to do some exercises and sleep afterwards.
