This is correct. Even if they are more qualified they will get only a little payment. Generally this category teachers are working due to security reason. I am not telling about all the teachers. There are not enough dedicated teachers, I think.

I think teachers are underpaid and overworked. Working with children, I find that a lot of parents do not discipline in the home, and leave that up to the teachers. These days it seems like the teachers are not only book educating, but also teaching things that the children should have learned at home, such as manners and things like that. Its really sad I think. But teachers are definately overworked and underappreciated.

Im my country, teachers are paid quite well but they are really overworked with the many extra curricular activities they need to cover besides academic teaching.

underpaid and over worked. Their day doesn't end when school is over, they still continue marking, planning, etc when they get home. Also, many participate in after school activities.

Teacher's are grossly underpaid. They do such amazing work for so little. However, I sometimes think that school districts can have a hard time finding good teachers... bad teachers are always overpaid, in my opinion. I think a lot of professors are overpaid for what they do... or don't do.

Teachers shape the future of the child, they play a very important role and carry heavy responsibilities ,I think they are under paid.

In my country underpaid and underworked... but get illegal money in their pockets... right now they`ve already blocked the school year screaming on the streets they want more money... i wouldn`t give them a dime... they didn`t teach me anything while I was in school... i had to learn to be my own teacher...

I come from a long line of teachers-kind of. They are definately underpaid, and overworked at times. Especially Kindergarten teachers, they teach a lot, and have two different classes (in most cases) and don't really get a lunch break, or other sort of breaks throughout the day like other teachers.

School teachers or overworked and under paid. They hold our childrens futures in their hands to mold them, teach them, and help make them responible adults.

I say most teachers in the U.S. are underpaid AND overworked. When you consider the large class load that most teachers have they should be paid a lot more. A good teacher must teach in different styles to match the learning skills of each student. Some learn visually, some learn audibly, etc. This takes preparation and patience. A lot of excellent teachers go elsewhere to make a living, while the poorer ones can't do anything else, anyway. Then our children are taught by them.

underpaid and overworked, what people do not realise is the fact that they are helping our children in life, an education can get you practically anywhere in the world.

You get paid £5000 ($10,000) just for training as a teacher in England. Underpaid? I don't think so!
