You'd think - Great, I can eat as many as I want. But oh no, there's a warning on the packet which says - 'WARNING: Excessive consumption may produce laxative effects' This is the sh1ts! Anyone else had their hopes dashed or felt cheated when you foolishly think your prayers have been answered?

Also sugar free products have many more things that can harm the body. It doesn't matter if something is sugar free, low fat, sodium free, everything must be consumed in moderation. Your body is not supposed to over indulge haha

You're right of course. I just read the packet and the sweets contain titanium dioxide. What good is that doing me?

@Orson_Kart titianium dioxide doesn't really do much, it provides color and texture to sweets, it is found in a lot of things that help prevent pigment change. too much of it can be bad because it is known to build up particles and cause blockage but I am not sure if that was found in the foods or in the sunscreen.

@DesirousDreamer I am going to do a bit of research on this as you have got me concerned now. I knew titanium was a hard metal and a song featuring Sia, but stick a dioxide on the end and I'm none the wiser.

Oh, @Orson_Kart , it really is the pits! And yes, there seems to be a health hazard one way or another with most products. Ah nuts!

There is an ingredient in sugar free product that is not good for us. I believe it was called maltodextros or something like that. I spotted delicious looking sugar free cookies at walmart once and decided to eat them a I shopped. I was in so much stomach pain but I do not recall the laxative effects. I won't eat anything labeled sugar free anymore after that brutal pain I had to endure.

I wouldn't worry about whatever else these sugar free sweets may contain. From the sounds of it they won't stay in your system long enough to do you any harm

Good point! So really, I could sit on the toilet all day and eat as many as I wanted. Did you hear that @DesirousDreamer ?

@Orson_Kart But..sugar free sweets normally have more sodium or other ingredients that you do not want to have in your body a lot. My best friend is diabetic. I know a lot about sugar free stuff.

I learned early on - you cannot eat a lot at one time of those sugar free candies

Life's not fair is it? Why is it you can always have too much of a good thing? As the song goes - I want what I want and I want it now.

Have you not read my discussion on sucky lollies? I was quite proud of myself weaning myself off those sugary devils only to find myself in a much darker place. I might just say to hell with it and rejoin you in sugarland.
