Day 86 Proverbs 13:19 Proverbs 13:19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil. You know the euphoria when you complete or achieve something you worked hard for. Graduates throw their caps in the air. You throw a party. You call or text everyone you know to let them know what just happened. However, there is always someone who won’t be happy for you and will try to rain on your parade. Solomon knew the euphoria of accomplishment when he completed building the temple. All the people who worked on the temple shared in his accomplishment because it was theirs as well. He also knew the people who wished him harm. Your greatest achievement as Christians is the day you accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. No other experience comes close to that one. As soon as the euphoria wears off, Satan is right there telling you you’re still a sinner, nothing has changed, and yet, you know it has. Satan sends people in your way to waylay your progress as a Christian, to divert your attention to something else. Problems arise such as you never experienced before. Everything in your house breaks down at the same time. Illness and disease attack your family. If that doesn’t cause you to quit as a Christian, Satan will bring as many people as he can to cause as much trouble as he can. Consider every evil attack on your nation, the terrorist attacks by ISIS, as well as those problems that happened right in your city, town, or village, and to your family. If you are happy about anything, someone will do their best to wipe the smile of happiness from your face and attitude. You need to fight back, and there is only one way to do that as a Christian. That is with the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; When you allow God to do what only God can do and not try to take care of everything in your own strength, which isn’t enough to combat Satan alone, then you will always stand victorious against anyone who wishes you evil. Let’s pray: Father, help me stand in your strength against all the problems Satan throws at me. Give me wisdom in every situation, so that when Satan flees, I will know I could not have achieved it without your help. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
