I'm Having an Off Day

December 8, 2016 12:04pm CST
I am having a really off day. I managed to get my oldest child on the school bus (it comes really early), then I went back to sleep, and slept through all of my alarms, so my middle child was late for school. She slept through them too, so I think that the heater running drowned them out. When I took her to school, the secretary just couldn't believe that we managed to sleep in. I have heard this woman gossiping about parents very loudly before, so now I have it in my head that she is probably judging me behind my back and acting all smug about it like she can do no wrong. I hate feeling like this. My fiancé is trying to deal with it being his first Christmas without his father (he passed away earlier this year), and he is absolutely the crabbiest individual EVER. So, I am trying to be sensitive to the fact that he is hurting, but he is being kind of a jerk to everybody, because apparently that is how he copes. Hopefully the day will get better.

I hope your day gets better. When my husband lost his father I told him I know you are hurting-that I understand however that doesn't give you the right to treat everyone else in the house like garbage. He would often apologize and then break down into tears. =( I would hold him and tell him I'm here if he wants or needs to talk about it...

I tried that, but he just snaps at me, so I say .....ok........ and just leave him alone.

I had days like this when the kids were young. All you can do is ignore the gossip and cary on. I do hope it gets better as the day goes on though.

Don't worry about the secretary. Let karma deal with her. Hope your day improves.

We all have to have off days, or else we could not cherish the good times. Your fiance will be fine, just let him be crabby, pat his back and he will be okay. He will cope on his own time. Also about that secretary deal...she is a secretary at a school, not saying all secretary's at schools are terrible, but there is always that one that loves gossip because their life is already so boring, don't worry about her judging you. It was a simple mistake, it isn't your fault it happened. Like you said, the alarms were drowned out. Make together better, do something that makes you happy, think of a funny joke or a happy time, just smile into a mirror and know there are better days to come.

Hang in there and try not to let people get to you.If you let them - the victory is theirs.

I hope your day gets better for you. A few weeks back I was having a bad day and was stupid enough to acknowledge the fact that I was having a bad day and it continued to be a bad day. Try not to say that out loud and maintain a positive attitude and hopefully your day will get better. As for your fiance, I have no words. It is a sad time for him. It is unfortunate he is taking it out on others. Maybe he needs to talk.
