Christmas tree

I decided to take a picture of my tabletop tree. It might not be much, but since I live alone, I never go all out, since I am the only one that sees it.
I do have small things I could put out, but I decided not yo this year. I don't have so much to take down then every year after the holiday is over.
I do like Christmas though. It is just I don't like going all out when I don't have to.
I leave it in the stand and put it in my closet, so I just stand it on the table, put ornaments on it, plug it in, and it is done. Very simple and doesn't take much time at all.

Growing up I lived with my great grandparents. When my grandmother passed my grandfather and I put the big tree up for a couple years and then we just got a little four feet tree and decorated it. It was special because with him being on oxygen I could do most of it by myself and he was so proud cuz I was so young.

It is much easier to do it when it is smaller, as it takes no time at all, and I don't have to take it out of the stand and put it back in the box. I can never get it back into the box, the way I got it. I did keep the box, though, and will keep it if I ever need it. I just stand it up in the closet uncovered, This year, though, I think I will cover it up when I put it away.

That's a very pretty tree! The photo makes it look soft and feathery. I, for one, don't have to decorate much to get into the mood of Christmas. When I lived alone I put up my little nativity that I've had for over 40 years, hung a few heirloom ornaments on the doorknobs and fireplace mantle, and that was it. Enough for me. Now I've moved across the country and am helping raise my 3 yr old granddaughter so this year there will be a lot of decorations and a tree. Different things for different people, whatever makes you happy.

@adynsmommy I don't think so unless my arthritis gets better. I can't stand very long to mix the cookies even with her little hands to help. I will figure out something to do with her that's like that, though. We popped corn on the stove last week and she was so thrilled watching it then eating it!

It zonked out as far as the lights are concerned, and I had to take it down and replace it, with a different one that I already had in the closet. It is three and a half feet, and a lavender one, with clear lights. It isn't as full and as pretty as the white one but it will be okay for now, and then I will get a different one for next year.

@celticeagle The color is pretty, but it just isn't full like the white one was, and that is so disappointing too. I will just not worry about it until next year, or maybe get one after the holidays, when they have them on clearance. I hope to find a nice one then. If I don't, then I will just wait until next year, as it isn't a big deal anyway.

I have had to replace that tree with a different one as after I posted this discussion, I tried replacing the burnt out bulbs, and of course when you pull a bulb out of its socket, the line will go out. I couldn't get the new bulb to seat in the socket and it just wouldn't light. The one I replaced it with is a lavender one witth all clear lights. It isn't perfect, but it will do for this year.

@Tina30219 I wished it hadn't happened either, but things like that do happen, so I just have to deal with it. The other tree isn't the best, but it is okay for this year, and I will get a different one for next year. I might get it when they go on sale after Christmas.

@rosekiss Sorry to hear this happened to you. Light can be a pain in the butt my mom use to put them on trees outside and had the same problem you did so this year she is not doing the outside trees she said she will just put her lawn decoration out. She goes all out on the inside of her house her ceramic trees and all of her villiage.

I like how the colorful lights and balls reflect on that white tree.

@Tina30219 It does make things easier that way, as it takes less time to put it up and take it down. I don't like spending a lot of hours doing either either, and it only takes a few minutes, which is fine with me.

I do too, especially when the lights are off. I burn it all day, and then shut it off when I go to bed at night, as I don't like burning it when I am asleep, as that just isn't necessary, as far as I am concerned. I think this is my third year of using the tree, and I will eventually get a different one but it will be awhile, as I do like the white tree.

@rosekiss I agree the white is pretty. My boyfriends mom gave us a nice tree with the lights already on it all we have to do is decorate it.

I wish we had more storage space becsuse my boyfriend said if we did he would leave the tree up just take the ornaments off because we have a lot of old ones that can't be replaced.

Since I posted this discussion, the lights went out on the tree, and I don't know why. I tried replacing the bulbs that went out and it caused the whole tree to go dark, so I took it down, and fortunately, I had one in the closet that I forgot about which is a three and a half foot, and it is a lavender tree, with clear lights. I like the white one better, but I wasn't about to sit and look at a tree with half the lights burning. I took it down, and put the other one up and put on garland and the ornaments. It is okay, but not the best in the world, as I will get a different one next year.

I am glad to be back again, and I will start coming in more often, as I have been busy with things lately, and just haven't taken the time to come in here lately. I sure will try to come in more often though, as it will take me months or years to get the pay out.

Last year Christmas was very subdued with minimal decorations at our house. This year I'm making a lot more of a fuss. The house has more decorations and the atmosphere is festive.

I will be gong to my son's for the holiday as well, and I am looking forward to spend time with them on that day, as it is important to be with family at this time of year. I just don't want to go all out either, since i am the only one that sees them.

I love it too, but the lights decided not to work, so I took it down, and put up a different one that is lavender, and not as full as the white one, and shorter too. I didn't know I had it until I looked in the closet and saw it there. It is a light lavender with clear lights. It is okay for now, but next year, I will be getting a different one.

I was replacing the bulbs that burnt out, and now the tree won't light, so I replaced it with a different one that I had that was brand new one which is a lavender tree and only three and a half foot. It is okay, but not perfect, but for now, it will do, as I am the only one here anyway.

I do too, but now, the lights won't work, and I ended up taking it down, and putting up a different one that is lavender, with clear lights. It isn't as pretty as the white one, but it will be okay, for this year, and I will a different one next year.
