HOW HONEST ARE YOU?

They say "honesty is the best policy" - and it is - but up to a point. Imagine telling someone the awful truth about - say their - personality, jokes, choice of clothes, hairstyle, spouse etc.
The fact is, people do not like hearing negative things about themselves and speaking the truth can sometimes land one in hot water.
How honest should a person be? I suppose it would be easier to be honest with a family member or close friend - but is it really?

A lot of the time, I am too honest for my own good. Sometimes, we probably shouldn't be completely honest but there's a difference between being tactful and being dishonest. I find it can be difficult trying to answer something without hurting feelings and to get someone to understand because I don't want to be dishonest. I get quite annoyed when it is assumed that I have been dishonest, and it particularly upsets me when others are dishonest to or about me. As my mum says (which her dad always said) you can lock away your belongings from a thief. There is no protection from a liar.

I'm honest with friends but I see no reason to reveal anything to a stranger.

Oh I am blunt. If someone's joke or attitude is terrible, I will tell them. Never will I do judge them by what they are wearing, hairstyle, or things that they have chosen to do. That is just wrong and terrible. Because that is what people like, my opinion is not the truth, it is just an opinion. If someone wants to wear something ridiculous, I won't say that they look good, I won't say they look bad either, my opinion doesn't matter as long as they are happy.

I think you need to pick which topic you want to be totally honest about or come very close to truth in a nice way.

If I am very comfortable with the person then I can be as honest as possible. If I'm not comfortable with the person, I better not say anything.

I think as we are bad we are good and as we are honest on most days sometimes we lie when we not feeling our self's
But then I hide my face on this site that could be seen as a lie to others but security to me it's is only our own perception that make the our judgment
Things happen
