Favorite "Dead" Songs #6 - "Pretend that We're Dead"

We interrupt this most festive time of year for #6 in my Favorite "Dead" Songs, "Pretend that We're Dead" by L7. Although they formed in Los Angeles in 1985, L7 is mostly associated with the Riot Grrrl (all female bands with a punk attitude) movement of the 1990's. "L7," according to Wikipedia, was a 1950's slang term for "square." After a lengthy hiatus, the band is still at it. From their 1992 album, Bricks are Heavy (produced by Nirvana producer and Garbage drummer Butch Vig,) "Pretend that We're Dead" is a rocker that did alright for itself. The song hit #8 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, and #21 on the UK Singles chart. It was also, among other things, featured in an episode of Beavis and Butt Head, and can be heard on the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I loved the entire Riot Grrrl thing, and "Pretend that We're Dead" is one of my favorites from that scene.
