What are you thoughts about growing older?

As we go through life we are usually prepared for the future. So far I have been through a youngster, a teenager, a wife, mother, grandmother and now a senior.
Sometimes I wonder what the next chapter is going to be like. Will I be healthy for a long time, a grumpy old woman or a swinging senior. I prefer that last one.
Have you given any thoughts to what your future years will be like?

I am already a senior and barringr those aches and pains while getting up I have no issues. I have enough on my plate to keep me happily occupied.

@ramapo17 Seniors should shift from their normal hectic activity and go for something what they can handle with ease.

@allknowing You are so right. Little aches and pains are part of growing older.

I'm pretty sure they're going to suck in a big way unless I get a better paid job.

@CoralLevang I don't think so.
my worries are purely financial...so if I get a better job now at 40 I will be able to save more for my retirement and live in some comfort.
Living on a very low fixed income as a pensioner is not my idea of fun

@CoralLevang I'd rather do something about it now, with 25 years until retirement, than wait until there is little I can do.
Worst thing for me was a decade ago I was all set financially and if I hadn't made some massive blunders I'd not have these worries now...you live and learn I suppose.

@CoralLevang You are right here. I think whatever we make, we will always think it is not enough.

I try not to think about what is coming next and just hope that it does.

As a parent... i am hoping for a better future for my son. If only i could be with him longer to guide him and to be present in every good and bad and mistakes and heartbreaks and succes of his life...

@Jackalyn Aww, that is cute. I wish my grandsons were that age again as I had them a lot and we had so much fun. Now my youngest is 16 and my oldest is 20 and in 2nd year of college. They are both over 6 foot 2 inches. I feel like a shrimp next to them.

I know mine won't be good because of my spinal injuries and COPD @ramapo17 . So for me, it's just a question of how long.

@nanette64 I am sorry you have such serious issues. At least you have the strength to be on here. My prayers and good wishes are with you.

I take one day at a time. The mind is willing the body not so much.

Depressing as health becomes a more threatening worry as the body begins the final decline while watching the dwindling sand in the hourglass and contemplating what might have been.

I choose to be a bride of Christ! We do have choices you know. On a daily basis we can choose to turn a bad day into a good day, just by choosing to be happy rather than sad.
