Usually I have no issues with pronouncing people's names but today when I called someone, I tripped over twice with her name and I was pretty embarrassed! Does "Veronica" sound difficult? It doesn't, but maybe I seldon have to address people with names having four syllabus. So do you have any issues addressing people's name?

I thought this is quite easy but I have never known any person named this one, so when I tried to pronounce, it didn't come out as planned Yeah, foreign names are especially difficult.

Yes Veronica is easy for me but English is what I speak. To others whose first language is not English I am sure it is a hard name to figure out. Its quite long. My sister has trouble with certain syllables. She can't say the last name Eldridge correctly. Certain sounds together are trouble.

Not sure if I can pronounce Eldridge as well. When we are of a different culture, maybe we will try pronouncing it using our own known language, which could be so wrong!

@bluemoonpavilion That "dge" sound is a monster. I used to help someone who had dyslexia problems. I never totally got through to help the poor guy.

Yes, some of the names are like tongue twisters and I also trip which pronouncing such names. However, the name Veronica does not sound difficult to pronounce. May be it would have happened by chance that you tripped while pronouncing this name.

@stbrians Yes, when coordination between thoughts and speech is not in harmony. Slip of tongue is a phrase.

Oh, I thought it's on here... Some of the names or usernames people use on here are real tongue twisters...

Most are nicknames so even if we got them wrong it's all right (I hope) but I feel very embarrassed if I pronounced someone's name wrong.
