Good afternoon.Do not want to sound morbid. But this is something that been bothering me for years.First of all in my will.I stated no machine or hook up. I want to be unplug. The Right to die always been a touching subject for some. Some hate to let it go.What kind of life if your body is riddle with disease. Who wants to spend there last day lying in bed or hospital. Not me. Mike know that there will be not hook up.Just let me go peacefully. I believe that people have a right to die.How about you. do you want to be hook on the machine for life?

No one in my family wants their life artificially extended with machines. Neither do we want to live if our brain won't work or if we are in horrible pain. When we euthanize an animal that is badly hurt we call it a mercy. But if we do it with humans it's murder. That makes no sense to me.

We have a living will that specifies our wishes if it comes to that. Everyone should. My brother in law had one, and that's why he was taken off life support last June.

I see this post #999. Well done! I am like you. If the quality of life will diminish then let me go. I'm ok with it.

My brother is in palliative care at the moment under the same conditions. Sadly for him it is taking longer than he hoped for.

No, I wouldn't want to be hooked up if there is no chance of me recovering, but I also wouldn't want the plug pulled before they knew for sure. A lot depends on length of time. We state something in our wills about that too.

We are both very much pro euthanasia, not just no hook up. There is no guarantee that you'll go peacefully and I would really to prefer to choose my time to die.

I think machines can't save one's life when lifespan granted by god ends.It is better to spend last days of life with family to live the life of years in few moments.

My wife and I both have living wills that specify what we want done in such a circumstance. This is something I recommend for everyone.

The older I have become the more I sway towards your thinking. I am definitely in your camp about this. I already have it in my mind that should I ever be diagnosed with something nasty I will be booking a one way ticket to Switzerland as we can not do such things in the UK it is against the law here! As for you my friend I hope that day does not come!

I would not like to be kept 'ticking' if it is of no use than to be a vegetable. If there is a right to live, why can't there be a right to die?
